This was spot on! My ex of over 15yrs called today basically expressing regret about what happened between us. We talked for hours but he did most of the talking. What I got from it was that he's miserable and have been beating up on himself on the choices he made after we broke up. He even created a family but they left him. He has a tendency to say things to get a rise from me but I didn't take the bait. He was just so he'll bent on wanting to talking about the past and I told him I'm not going down that rabbit hole with him and it's a new year. I told him I've forgiven him and I'm at peace with what happened.
He's probably a narcissist. They like to provoke people.

Gotta discern "who's" behind the person looking for any cracks u may hv left open.(desperation). Spirits including negative ones "need" ppl to "work through". Spiritual Warfare stay vigilant. Even if they are really close to us we can still love from a far, it’s just that we can’t tolerate disrespect and we most certainly can’t take some people with us along our journeys.
