Dan, it's worth noting that the hardware on the CT4 like yours is identical to the 4S, and there are at least 2 companies that I know of currently working on software to increase the power...

Really like your review - I am also considering buying the exact same version. Biggest challenge is speccing it right, without going overboard on total price. Would appreciate if you can could provide your option list - or do a video specifically about options, which one you should definitely buy and which you can pass on.

I like the all digital infotainment system. Especially the screen on the passenger side. I know that the F12 Berlinetta has a small digital read out that shows the rpm and speed. Its a really nice feature for the passenger, who is a car fanatic, to see.

Great vid and analysis as always, Dan. I might have sprung for a higher trim level with more HP but definitely would go with Mamba Green. It’s a great car. You can’t go wrong with a Porsche.

Great video Dan. Well narrated and thorough shakedown of the car. I also think the CT is the best looking and most practical Taycan of them all. I opted for the 4S for mine and think there’s a lot of bang for the buck there and a lot of your objections would melt away with the extra power. Your Mamba Green CT is lovely. I went for the Cherry Metallic and like it a lot.
    Thanks very much!

When you first sent me that picture of you two next to the car, I was so happy to see it come true. I remember you and I were talking about this car, and I kept saying “GET THE PANAMERA WAGON” but at the end of the day, this is just more practical, especially for Ry.
The color, is perfect. The shape too.
As you know, I am definitely not a fan of electric cars, so I will be judging harshly 😂😂😂
Also since she’s reading this, hello there Susan!
I remember you talking to me about this lift mode that the car has. Would be awesome to slap some off-road tires on it and go camping. Just get some PPF done first 😉
I love how everything is touchscreen. Haptic feedback is sick af bro
It really doesn’t seem distracting at all. Porsche has always been great at accomplishing their vision, intention, purpose, for every car they make. They nailed it here.
I will say, the sound this car makes on acceleration is really cool. It looks like it handles just like the taycan you reviewed a while back, probably prompting you to buy this.
Also i just Heard an aventador fly by. I live right next to US-1
    Spaceship vibes indeed
Massage seats are EXPENSIVE. Sick though
250 miles? I honestly dunno, probably hard for me to get used to that per tank… uh sorry charge 😂
    Nice watch 😉
I bet you scared Susan at least once during this review lol. The instant torque out of nowhere is the best
I’m surprised I haven’t seen more of these yet.
245s messed with my car’s stability control a lot, made it far too sensitive.
I like the design of this car. I’m also glad the autonomous driving sucks, keeps you engaged with the machine.
That’s such a weird sound lol
I think this car would look great with black wheels honestly.
Oh or bronze yeah. That would be interesting
    Alright let’s see the numbers
This car looks so cool hauling ass down the airstrip
How did the brakes hold the 5,100lbs?
This car looks so sleek, and must be very slippery through the air. Definitely a nice advantage
I’m glad the RS3 is a little faster lol
I’m expecting good results from this car on the handling test, considering the last taycan’s results
That’s great that the brakes don’t fade. Technology is awesome
It’s not a bad car man. I just wouldn’t pay over $100k for this thing. Maybe $80k, $90k. The tech is really impressive, along with its practicality. I just think that, in 10 years, when the world is full of these, this car would be cheaper in price tbh. Abundance creates opportunity.
    Nice bikes 😉
Doesn’t look like I’ll be able to afford any of them until next year unfortunately 😔
Guess god wants me to stay alive for a little longer 😜
I think you bought the best car for what you wanted in this stage of life. If they ever come out with a higher HP one though, you’re gonna want it 😂
Car is awesome Dan. I like it personally, because it’s definitely unique. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, I’d still take an Exige S in Krypton Green over any electric car 😉
Electric cars just never check all the boxes for me honestly. I’ve owned several in a lot of my video games and end up getting bored with them quite quickly. GTA, forza, etc. After being blessed by and having grown up around engines, it’s just difficult to acclimate to the silence. It’s something I could never do. However, for an electric car, I think this thing gets the job done very well, and, it’s very practical. Thanks for the upload, chat with you soon 🤙🏻

@Noble Vigilance Thanks man, Panamera Wagon would've been cool. I probably would've been able to get the Turbo S trim but I just feel like the Panamera was too old man looking.
Susan says hi. I already have PPF on the front half of the car, although I have considered what the car would look like if we did XPEL Stealth on it like we did our truck. My quick review of the initial Taycan Turbo S was definitely a factor in me choosing a Taycan as our daily.
Susan is totally used to me driving fast whether its on track or on street. Yeah I mean, the car is 93K base MSRP but you have to basically spec it past 100. Anything less than that is way too barebones for a "luxury" car. Well I have the lowest HP spec, so it's kind of sad but I'll probably keep this one for a while as Susan's daily. I'm trying to find my way into either an Emira or C8Z06 right now.
Anyway, thanks for the comment, talk to you soon.

Love the spec of this car - absolutely perfect. Wish I had the guts to order the green and the gold accents. Just beautiful. One thing that bugs me abut the taycan is thst, for the size, the interior and cargo space seems pretty tight. Has that been an issue?

Great Video - I like your style - filmed in the car, voiced-over later. The hand gestures are a little exaggerated and comical - but that's what I really liked. It matches well with the subdued voice, the even volume, and clearly planned oration...as opposed to MOST Taycan reviews which are "live" even when it's windy or they aren't sure what they want to say. So overall, very well done. As I said, I really like your style - I'm subscribed.
As for the Taycan Cross Turismo, I've been a serious fan ever since the first pictures of the Mission-E Cross. I've lusted for Porsches since the 959, but never had the means, so I settled for a used Corvette (which was awesome, btw, and I'd love to have a C8 Z06, but, practicality). I finally bought a 3-yr old Panamera Turbo in 2018, immediately took it to the Homestead Track for a Porsche Weekend, and was hooked. As you said, Porsche just does it right. I've driven most of the iconic sports cars - Mustangs, Corvettes, AMG Mercedes, McLarens, Audis - and for a "One Car to do it ALL", nothing else compared to my Panamera Turbo. That Sport Plus button gives it the ultimate Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde personality. Smooth, quiet, comfortable most of the time...and loud, growling, neck snapping, tight and precise at the flick of a switch. Nothing compared, until I drove the Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo. Holy CRAP!! I will miss the awesome roar of my twin turbo V-8...but I won't miss paying $6.00 or more per gallon, probably forever. So I placed an order last October, then waited a few months for a Turbo allocation at my small local dealership, waited a lot more months for the build to begin (due to the sinking transport ship and being bumped back), and then another couple of months waiting on the Burmester Amplifier after it got into the US...but I will pick it up next week! During the past 10 months I've watched every Taycan video on TH-cam. I don't want there to be a learning curve when I get it - I want to know everything there is to know. I'm aware of the nation-wide charging station issues, which does concern me a little, but for 95% of the time, I'll be charging at home off my solar panels and battery storage. One of these days I'll risk a multi-charger trip, but I bought it to be my "every day drive to work and make me smile" fun and useable car.
Again, thanks for your video! It reinforced my decision to go for the Turbo. I've wondered since the build got locked in if that was the best call - maybe I should have done the 4S or GTS? - but since I'm already spoiled with the Panamera Turbo, anything else may have ended up disappointing.

    • @SpeedLabsMotorEnvy
      @SpeedLabsMotorEnvy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

@John Thanks John, I just finished up replying to your email. This POV method of reviewing is something I just started doing in the last few videos so I'm still trying to refine it a bit more.
As a car reviewer, I've also had the pleasure of driving lots of different cars to the limit and though every car is good at something, almost none of the cars are good at everything. Every Porsche that I have driven though, has come the closest to ticking all the right boxes in their respective segments.
I do miss the sound of a combustion engine but I hope that it's only temporary and that in the next year I will be able to grab a C8 Z06 at MSRP or the Lotus Emira at a discount if no one wants to buy them.
But congratulations on your new CT Turbo! You're really going to like it, I wish I had the patience and budget to wait for a Turbo or Turbo S build, but I'm the "I want it sooner than later" type of buyer. I haven't had any issues with public charging thus far, what is the concern there?
The 4S is probably the best option budget wise. The GTS is only Sport Turismo at the moment if I'm not mistaken. The Sport Turismo is basically just a pure Taycan wagon, but the CT is slightly taller, and has the ORP which is something I really wanted. The Turbo is going to blow you away though. The 4S is probably equivalent to your Panamera Turbo in a straight line, but the Turbo is on a whole nother plane of existence.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed my videos. I've been taking it slow this year with videos but I'm hoping to amp it back up once I have more time on my hands.

    • @JohnPegg1
      @JohnPegg1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy Yeah, I felt the same about the GTS - would have been my first choice for price/performance, but like you, I actually like the "plastic bits" and the ORP, so the CT was the only choice. And yeah, the 4S may have been almost as fast as my Panamera Turbo, but I was looking for something a little quicker/faster. I even considered the Vonnen Shadow Drive for my Panamera to get an extra sweet 150hp electric kick, but for now that's only available for the 911.

I am planning to purchase the CT 4 . I am able to spec around 14k of options and still be around the base price of a 4s. I find most of these auto reviewers concentrate on acceleration speed although for someone who lives in the suburbs with points on my license , due to my driving habits with my 911, acceleration and speed is not an issue for me. I would rather have the 14 k of options.

Porsche and the VW Group seemed to have rushed out their EV products too quickly. Like every other auto maker also. The CEO ouster and all the damn recalls of VW group vehicles seem to confirm this. Sucks to be an early adopter but I’m sure eventually they will sort it out. If you’re going to go electric, it’s software not hardware. I’m sure it was hard to convince the notorious German automotive labor unions of this since they might be replaced by software and robots eventually should the German auto industry eventually goes mostly EV. And also, it’s not as if the rare earth metals and batteries are controlled by German companies. These are the last hurrahs we are witnessing from that region so soak it all up and enjoy!

    • @AviationDirection
      @AviationDirection 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It doesn’t matter. FAR has rules for Part 107 drone flying within 5 miles and 400’ of ANY airfield that requires written consent from the airfield. Even if has that, what mitigation plans does he have when racing cars on the runway and possibly dropping FOD they could affect departing/landing aircraft? This is an airport, not a race track.
