The same people probably bought all of those and are flipping them on eBay. While something needs to change with that, relax and take a deep breath and realize that's the situation for 99% of RLC members. I didn't even try for it because I knew that's exactly what would happen. Look, I'm still mad I couldn't get that Nismo when I tried as soon as it went on sale and haven't tried to get any RLC cars since. But bots or not, the chance of landing one of those 1500 sets with tens of thousands of RLC members was abysmally low and next to impossible. But I don't blame Lamley even acting as the Mattel ambassador. He's not really responsible for what's sold on their website.
Really like the idea of these (despite not getting either TH in my A box). Don’t mind the price but having them come so long after the mixes hit the pegs is a huge disadvantage. I haven’t collected a full set of mainlines since 2000 but figured I’d give it a shot this year by buying the boxes and filling in the blanks from the pegs. The lag time for these boxes is making it extra complicated though. Don’t want to pay above retail for cars in the box and wind up with duplicates or miss out on cars when they’re on the pegs.
Hot Wheels should do a DIY kit, get unpainted, comes with a sick ass decal sheet , 2 different sets of wheels . The unpainted headlights , crooked decals and bare panel lines drive me crazy . I’d love to customize a WRX and not be sloppy paint apps
Depending on the price, I'd think it would be more desirable if it was all regular treasure hunt versions with an option to get an all super treasure hunt version box Otherwise its not too appealing at least to a casual collector like myself
Kool kambi was a big miss for the b case on this black box. Opening a 72 ct case in the stores they was only 1 per box but appear to be up to 2 per case over lapping in the C case. Thanks for all the updates ! .
Maybe this Friday I can order the 4 boxes. I have a great collection of HW. Not anything specific, a big Shelby and mustang collection. Alot of sports cars, tuners, lowriders, and muscle cars. I need to grow my collection a bit with these.
Concerned they haven't updated the product listing with anything beyond D case ones, as of this date anyways. Seems they did the initial listing with A-D cases for preorder and nothing since.
The price and the waiting are the only downside. Especially when you are waiting and you are seeing all the cars pop up at stores. That being said I was lucky enough to get a super treasure hunt batmobile in my a case. Looking forward to the next 3 I pre-ordered.
I got the A box this week and it did have a label saying it was the A. I'm surprised with the amount of fantasy castings in that C box. Mattel should know that people buying these are not that interested in the fantasy castings. I get it if it's a new release, but when I see that toaster car it makes me sad.
Your B box was missing first release models: Kool Kombi, Custom Small Block, Hot Wired, Poison Arrow, Turbine Sublime, Gotta Go, Tee'd Off 2, Baja Bone Shaker and Quick Bite. Your C box was missing first releases: Greenwood Corvette, Mazda 787B, Rimac Nevera, '88 Pro Street Thunderbird, Custom Ford Maverick, Mercedes-Benz Unimog, Barbie Extra and Bricking Delivery. Can't really complain about the missing fantasy models, but it's unfortunate that the C box didn't include the 787B and Nevera.
You didn't get the Surf Crate T.H. anor the kool Kombie. and those are of the ones I'm looking most forward to. Next to Rodger Dodger of course. The C case is a little better but they gave you that Nissan Z again and jacked the '76 Greenwood Corvette and that's the one I want most. At least you got The Ford Transit Connect, Camaro, Twindusction and Group C Fantasy and especially the new Batmobile.
I understand that the main demographic for these are for people who don’t have time to hunt or can’t find Hot Wheels in their area. They also get clean, unhandled castings. The questions I have are If you get a STH, you obviously don’t get the mainline, but if you get the RTH, I am guessing you don’t a casting that was assigned to that case? The other question is... what about returns?
Last 3 Supers I found were all the Miura. Sure, voted best Super of 2022 in your awards but I need the N and P Supers (Audi Avant RS2 and '32 Ford) and those seem much more rare so I can't find anyone with extra of those wanting to trade for a Miura.
If you get one of these boxes and most will not say box A B or what not. You can tell by the code on back of box. Box A will read HKT027...Box B HKT028, ..BOX C HKT029 AND MAYBE BOX D SHOULD BE HKT030 WILL COME BACK LATER ON TODAY TO TELL YOU.
I wish the boxes were better quality. I’m not really seeing the true difference between going out and buying 16 individually vs this other than a slightly higher percentage of sth’s. If anything, make the spine of the box only a partial hot wheel logo so if you had them all and on a shelf it would make a full hot wheels logo
I wonder if the Z that was in there was supposed to be the Rimac from C case. There was an issue in 2021 where a blue Jaguar F Type and a blue Lamborghini Urus came out in the same case. People kept finding the Jag on the Lambo's card and vice versa. I don't know how anything is packaged, bit I could see how someone doing a job quickly could mistake the Z for the Rimac. Hopefully, that's all it was, a mistake.
Got My black box c case today and there was a B case car the Nissan Maxima Drift Car in the there. I didn't the Maxima in B case so that worked out ok.
I used to be a fairly hard core collector, until I found out what was going on. I know I am likely gonna get allot of hate from this, as I have mentioned this a few times before on other collector channels... I kindly ask, "ya'll, be nice"... lol... But, here is what I found out. I live in Indiana, and years ago for my job, I drove. All the cars that were hard to find in Indiana, Treasure Hunts, or rather, T-Huntetc... were flooded on the west coast.. and all the hard to find cars on the west cost, where flooded in the east coast... Central part of the US, also had collector cars, that were hard to find, but flooded elsewhere. The only change was the cardboard backer... For example, when my heart was broken, when I really wanted the Treasure Hunt blue Mustang Mach 1... I finally found one. But then, I was at a store in Nevada, and there was like 40 of them hanging on the hooks, I purchased about 5 of them, just to see what had changed and what or why these in Nevada were not labelled T-Hunt or Treasure Hunt.. Few days later, I compared the two, The T-Hunt Mustanf Mach 1 and the Ford Mustang Mach 1 that doesn't say "T-Hunt".... NOTHING WAS DIFFERENT... That is when I knew I was, I hate to say it, but, scammed into this game of collecting Hotwheels and Matchbox. Please note, It is important to note, If you all find any measure of enjoyment in collecting these, then please, enjoy yourselves. But, I can't allow myself to fall victim to that any further. I buy the ones now that I like to look at in display cases and that is as far as I take this now. The quarterly posters that the west coast gets flag-shipping the new releases and limited production edition's, is a different poster then that of the same quarterly poster the east coast gets. I know, some of you are gonna tell me all about the collector books that show case what is "hot and not",.. Guess what, I have 2 books from the west coast, and of course, several from the tri state area where I am from, and the books are totally different with what something is worth, vs, which cars.... "Yeah, but, what about EBAY? I see what hot there too".... I can't answer that question as per fact, but, I can speculate. This is where i really ruffle feathers and I am sorry, but, a seller can regulate how far one is willing to sell to by radial distance of zip code. Which that is common knowledge, but, my speculation is, I bet EBAY gets paid to work that out to limit how far a west coast seller can reach viewers... Every now and again, you will see what looks like a scam seller, where they are selling a "what looks like a re-packaged" T-Hunt, car to and they are on the east coast, and somebody on the west coast will never buy it, as that item accidentally slipped through... You only thought is what a scammer.. That is not a T-Hunt, those are bulk quantity here where I am at...blah...blah.. blah... But, where the seller is at, it actually is a T-Hunt for them. All I am saying is, Please do not hurt your pocket books being on a mad mission to collect them all. I am not telling any of you what to do or not do, and just speaking in general, "Just enjoy them for what they are." With a little bit of your own investigation, you can see what the sales campaign is, that is being played on our heart strings and desires to collect them all notions... If you find a "so called" limited car, and only paid the store MSRP, then wonderful, rock and roll... But, do not hurt yourselves trying to complete an old series from last year, by paying $299 for one car... Heck, you can just about RENT a car and drive to the other coast opposite from were you are living, and spend the $2 bucks to get the flooded model, exactly the same vehicle, minus the printing of "T-HUNT" of other flag ship labels. Here is another story. K-Mart, before closing down, used to be the "authorized sales rep" for Hotwheels. They used to offer the quarterly raffle opening of the pallet(s) worth of cars, and you then in turn get first dibb's on opening the new boxes. Well, on one of those events, due to a snow storm, NOBODY SHOWED UP but me... I got to open ALL OF THE BOXES... out of 2 pallets worth, each were about 3 to 4 foot tall, about 300 cases. 10 or 14 cars per case, NOT A SINGLE LIMITED RUN CAR or T-HUNT... LOL... All those days, assuming I was a day late or the store employee's got the jump on them before the customers did and scooped them all up.. Nah, there just wasn't any of them in there at all..LOL...That, I speculate was a mistake by the manufacturers loading or packaging line? just a guess on that...
Dang. I wish I could get anything cool like this and all the storage. They're still on 2022 boxes in Missouri. I'm missing the #1 batmobile, the Green one and the black tooned one .
"Your's when you buy it from Amazon will come sealed with two stickers," unless it shows up open and short a model. I've seen a couple reports of that already. That Batmobile is HOT. I'm going to have to get one or two of them to repaint and get a consistent finish on it.

I'm grateful I have a " guarantee" new castings release but I'm still store hunting. I canceled both A and B because of the delay of release. If Amazon continues the delay they aren't going to sell very many. Where's E and F?

The only time i ever hear the word amazon here in Australia it is connected to a scam so i won't be buying off amazon or even looking at their website.
These were pitched as a way to avoid having to peg hunt but the C box is missing at least the Rimac and 787B, which means it's a useless product for me. I don't mind hunting but this would be an even bigger disappointment than missing a model or two in the course of hunting.
The Amazon Black Box is $5 over priced compared to Target, Walmart, Dollar stores and supermarket mainline pricing. Plus it shipped 6 weeks after A case hit big box stores. Too many fantasy cars too. I didn’t get Super TH or Regular TH in my order and I already picked up all the A case castings much earlier in December. Also got lucky this week and found A case super in Family Dollar. So I returned this black box, would rather hunt in stores. Might work for collectors that don’t want to hunt anymore, but not for me.
Based off of your B and C case opening and now the black boxes, is it fair to say that the Moon Eyes Kool Kombi is as rare as a regular treasure hunt? It was 1 per case, there was none in your black box, and it did not carry over to the C case. Just an observation.
Lamley pulled the Kool Kombi from his 72ct C case unboxing and I've seen other 72ct C case unboxings have it as well. I can safely say that it does carry forward into the C case.

Have you noticed the metal casting is getting sloppy? Look at the spoiler on the Zonda. Should be smoother on the sides.

I am not telling any of you what to do or not do, and just speaking in general, "Just enjoy them for what they are." With a little bit of your own investigation, you can see what the sales campaign is, that is being played on our heart strings and desires to collect them all notions...
If you find a "so called" limited car, and only paid the store MSRP, then wonderful, rock and roll... But, do not hurt yourselves trying to complete an old series from last year, by paying $299 for one car... Heck, you can just about RENT a car and drive to the other coast opposite from were you are living, and spend the $2 bucks to get the flooded model, exactly the same vehicle, minus the printing of "T-HUNT" of other flag ship labels.
Here is another story. K-Mart, before closing down, used to be the "authorized sales rep" for Hotwheels. They used to offer the quarterly raffle opening of the pallet(s) worth of cars, and you then in turn get first dibb's on opening the new boxes. Well, on one of those events, due to a snow storm, NOBODY SHOWED UP but me... I got to open ALL OF THE BOXES... out of 2 pallets worth, each were about 3 to 4 foot tall, about 300 cases. 10 or 14 cars per case, NOT A SINGLE LIMITED RUN CAR or T-HUNT... LOL... All those days, assuming I was a day late or the store employee's got the jump on them before the customers did and scooped them all up.. Nah, there just wasn't any of them in there at all..LOL...That, I speculate was a mistake by the manufacturers loading or packaging line? just a guess on that...

By buying the whole 72 set at least you know that the whole case will be there, including the good cars. In this here you can have awful 16 cars that you don't even collect at all and you actually paid for them lmao imagine buying a box and coming full of lego and dinossaur cars. Ridiculous.

These were pitched as a way to avoid having to peg hunt but the C box is missing at least the Rimac and 787B, which means it's a useless product for me. I don't mind hunting but this would be an even bigger disappointment than missing a model or two in the course of hunting.
Any idea when the mastercase will release? The last one was on the 11th but the 2022 one hasn't dropped

The Amazon Black Box is $5 over priced compared to Target, Walmart, Dollar stores and supermarket mainline pricing. Plus it shipped 6 weeks after A case hit big box stores. Too many fantasy cars too. I didn’t get Super TH or Regular TH in my order and I already picked up all the A case castings much earlier in December. Also got lucky this week and found A case super in Family Dollar. So I returned this black box, would rather hunt in stores. Might work for collectors that don’t want to hunt anymore, but not for me.
Aalso very disappointing that Rimac Nevera car wasn’t in C case black box too

How did your get them early
Based off of your B and C case opening and now the black boxes, is it fair to say that the Moon Eyes Kool Kombi is as rare as a regular treasure hunt? It was 1 per case, there was none in your black box, and it did not carry over to the C case. Just an observation.
Lamley pulled the Kool Kombi from his 72ct C case unboxing and I've seen other 72ct C case unboxings have it as well. I can safely say that it does carry forward into the C case.
