For me, the Vendee Globe is the best competitive event in the world, nothing else comes close. I have never been near a yacht but it has been a privilege to witness the super human courage of these sea wolves. I canât wait for 2024.
Global Solo Challenge in September 2023. For the geeks. (50ft limit)
I have been following the Vendee Globe since day 1. Spend countless hours on the tracker and daily video clips. This 52-minute recap is a wonderful reminder of how awesome this sport, its sailors, and machines are
The same here.. countless hours studying the tracker, checking the skippers situation before going to bed and when waking up in the morning.. this VG will be unforgettable!
Thanks, Merci, Kiitos,Tack, Danke - Kap Khun Kap (Thai) Johannes K. Lindgren born in Suomi-Finland.
I grew up in Sweden where I used to sail Optimist Jolle and Maxi Sailboats. Today I am a septuagenerian âlandlubbererâ.
Living in the northern Thai hinterland Khlong Nam Lai village 380 km from BKK (Bangkok) No boat - No lake, no oceans. I miss those days! In Stockholm archipelago and the Baltic Sea! Here only mountains. But no traffic ! So I ride my Kawasaki Vulcan 650 (Big Bike). Often FULL TILT! âMAKE LIFE A RIDEâ If you canât SAIL!
I started motorcycling at age 70 after four years of challenging TKR operations. âHigh Tech Orthopedic CarpentryâRight Knee unfortunately with a nasty infection. KS hospital in Stockholm. Revision operation in later TKR Left Knee at Lerdsin hospital BKK. Outstanding Orthopedic surgeons here in Thailand. ðđð
Watched the Vendee Globe for the 1st time. Really impressed by the human spirit, the comradeship, passion and love for the sea from the participants!! Amazing.....you ALL sailors won our hearts! No show on earth or fiction can bring this much joy. Love you all.
It is so addictive, I canât get enough.
VendÃĐe Globe forever!
This is a beautiful production! Thank you. I do wish the whole world could watch this.
Super n best race...hats off to all racer...thanks for uploading this rare content
Now with the vendee, the Globe is my Home. Thanks
This edition of the race had everything, drama, heroes, underdogs, the best escapism ever. And your edit conveys all of those, so hats off really! Also good to have an English version as this race deserves more exposure outside of France.
The best of Europe! That is good enough.
Thank you for an excellent video. Very, very well made......especially for people who sail alone all the time.
I loved this 52 min edition for the VG 2020-21, it's very emotional, well edited.. I loved it.. but I think they forgot the others skippers in the sea: Ari Huusela, Alexia Barrier, Manuel Cousin, Sam Davis (retired) and Isabelle Joschke (retired). When I read on the VG official website about this 52 min history I was happy to read that these skippers would not be forgotten. But unfortunetly they were. In the video they didn't even mention and pictured Manu Cousin, Ari Huusela, Miranda Merron or Sam Davis, who are great skippers and still on the sea at this moment, except M. Merron. I hope another edition (the definitive one) will be made including all the skippers.
agreed
I concur. Isabelle Josche was hanging on the top 10, and everyone is watching Ari to see him finish.
Boris Herrmann also deserved more attention.
Best sport ever ! Best explorers ever ! See you in 4 years.
Sport extrÊme! Merci à tous les skippers et à l'organisation du VG.. Ce fÞt une merveilleuse aventure que de suivre les pÃĐripÃĐties de chacun. à 2024!
So fantastic for us ancient mariners to see after seeing most of race ; I want to share this to other sailors who have missed this wonder on computers and phones ðšðļðĻðĶðĻðąðâĢïļ
Wow I needed this! Thank you, thank you; beautifully done.
Such an incredible challenge with an amazing cast of characters. This race needs much more global recognition as it is unlike anything else!
This recap was wonderful! It captured so many of the emotions this race brings. Very inspiring to see the different types of competitors... mobility challenges, age gaps, women, men, different nationalities..
A great way to escape the Lockdown.
I watch the Tour de France religiously for 23 days every July. The Vendee is basically 4 years of the TdF squished into one year. 80 days of drama that I can't - for the life of me - get my friends to appreciate. I am as alone as the racers as I watch daily updates and track the AIS.
I can't wait for '24.
For me these sailor exemplify the best of all human qualities and show us perseverance is key Cheers
Thank you for this. It has been and it is incredible to follow this journey until the last sailor arrives at the shore.
Superb, and moving.
Well done!
33 sailors and 80 days, a lost boat, a sea rescue and a one armed sailor . Pretty emotional experience.
Beautifully put together! Thank you! âĪïļ
Well done thanks!
Marvelous
Congrats to all sailing women and men.Really amazing 4 months to wach every day and some time night live and with a lot of informations and dramas. Yes i cried also a few times, and i,m so happy that Jean Le ROI Cam saved skipper Escoffier. That a fisher boat was driving in Boris Herrmann boat, was really a tragedy, but i,m happy that he was save and arrived in Les Sables D,Aulonne. Thank you and i wish good luck to the 4 sailers arriving soon. Great Job Sam Davies and Isabelle Joschke.

Good to watch in middle of winter inside a dark bedroom.

le meilleur moment
So why no mention of Ari Huusela?
That belonged to Alex Thomson. So sad he couldn't win it ðĐ
Oh Goodness me I hope there are loads of People there to Cheer ON ARI's arrival.
I love the race and have been following this edition closely as usual. Not impressed with this recap though. There are some good bits, but it is so heavily weighted on Yannick Bestaven/Charlie Dalin/Jean Le Cam and many of the other skippers are hardly mentioned. Some don't seem to be mentioned at all!!!! Anyone who competes in this race is deserving of inclusion. Such a shame because this has been a fabulous edition of the VG with so many great stories, but many of those stories are overlooked by this video. They should have a) waited until the last few skippers had finished and b) made a longer film and been able to spend at least a few minutes featuring EVERY competitor. Disappointing and disrespectful to the skippers who are not mentioned.
