Joe Torry on 2Pac, Janet Jackson, Robin Harris, Jamie Foxx, Suffering Drive-By (Full Interview)

- Actor and comedian Joe Torry sat down for his first-ever VladTV interview, and he started off speaking about his three-decade-long career, and he went on to detail being a military kid that moved around a lot. Joe then spoke about being the middle of six kids, and after detailing his upbringing, Joe went on to reveal how he got into stand-up comedy.
After moving to L.A., Joe revealed that he linked up with Robin Harris, who became a good friend, and Joe also spoke about Mike Tyson coming and interacting with them at the Comedy Act Theater. Joe then explained how Robin inspired him in the comedy world, and he went on to detail learning about Robin’s untimely death. From there, Joe spoke about making his way through the comedy world and getting movie roles, starting with “House Party,” which is a role that he got with the help of Robin Harris.
Joe then detailed getting a starring role in “Poetic Justice” with 2Pac, Regina Hall, and Janet Jackson, which led to Joe speaking about his friendship with 2Pac. Vlad and Joe then spoke about 2Pac’s death, and Joe went on to later speak about his involvement in the “All Eyez on Me” movie. I love Joe Torrry! He is a great story teller which makes sense because he’s a comedian. I didn’t realize he was 57, he looks damn good for his age. 😊

I enjoyed this interview. Joe Torry is that guy in a good way. He has a wealth of experience, and it’s apparent in the interview that he’s someone who many celebrities are comfortable with. I hope we see more of him in movies. (Edit: Took me a long time to finish watching this interview. I had to stop and start while carrying out family duties. After watching the full interview, I realized that Joe has great things coming ahead.)
Of course, I love “Poetic Justice” for many reasons, but my favorite Joe Torry movie was “Sprung.” I, absolutely, love love this movie, along with many others. The twist at the end was perfect. I am wondering if Torry and Paula Jai had a fling. They had great chemistry in this movie. One can tell that I do not follow celebrities much.

I'm a huge fan of 2Pac, and yes, I do enjoy hearing the stories about him. However, I think it's best to focus on the person you are interviewing and discuss their accolades/accomplishments rather than constantly talking and asking about 2Pac. It is diminishing to the person who is being interviewed.
I think Vlad and Art need therapy (if they haven't already) to deal with the loss of 2Pac at this point.
As for the Cosby situation, in sealed testimony that was not supposed to be unsealed, Cosby admitted to what he did to Constand.
Celebrities are capable of doing bad shit, no matter what they donate or who they help. They are human and fallible like the rest of us.

After watching a lot of your interviews I have noticed that you always find a way to integrate Tupac into the interview. Not only is it becoming annoying, it takes away from the person being interviewed. I would’ve like to hear more about Joe Tory.
A tidbit about Poetic Justice, Janet's then husband is in the film, the post office scene where they're playing darts... thats Rene Elizondo. So, Tupac didnt get the attention he wanted from Janet because I dont think he was her type, and not to mention she was married, secretly at the time.

Joe looks good af and this was a great interview outside of all the Pac talk. All he needed to ask Joe about was Poetic Justice and move on. Joe is funny af and tells great stories.
