  • My client had just bought a motor catamaran, Fountaine-Pajot 37', to enjoy with his family in Miami, Florida. He had never previously driven the boat prior to receiving my coaching services. We spent two full days coaching. Day one was docking and undocking. Day two was "everything else": anchoring, navigation, VHF radio, safety, man-overboard, collision avoidance, did I mention collision avoidance? I'll say it again COLLISION AVOIDANCE. We had a lot of fun and I was delighted to present my Royal Navy Yachtmaster certificate of recognition by the end of it all.
Another client that is more confident, safer, and having more fun out on his boat!

Very informative instructional video. Thank you. Just one point. Would it not be better to be wearing Deck shoes rather than bare feet when handling lines?

Fair comment . I always wear shoes while sailing/racing.... this was low intensity low stress but shoes are never a bad idea 👍

Hire David for coaching! I was lucky to have difficult weather for my training (25 mph crosswind with swirling gusts) with him on our 55+ ft sailboat in Virginia. I can now safely handle it under all conditions, day or night, with zero stress. I can't thank him enough! Worth every penny knowing that I'm not going to damage the vessel or other vessels in the marina. And he's fun!
