This song takes me back. I remember when it came out in the fall of 1980. I was in tenth grade and on a certain night at two o clock in the morning I snuck out of my house in Lenexa, Kansas through the back door leading out to the screened in backyard porch. There were four foot tall snowdrifts and it was freezing with a light breeze blowing, but other than the sound of the breeze blowing and the rustling of the bare trees in our backyard all was quiet. The night sky was overcast but the moons glow could be seen through the clouds. It was then that I felt an incredible happiness that I have not felt since then.
This song is about his wife banging other men before they got married and he married her anyway cause he told her he'd love her forever no matter what 😬
Loved Speedwagon, never got to see them live till I was working red carpet security for Super Bowl Saturday Night Pary hosted by John Travolta and Marshall Faulk in 2008. REO was performing and I told Mr Travolta I’d never seen them live so it was a treat I could hear them outside. Right before they went on, I was called inside and got to see the show with Travolta…It was great and very gracious and worth the wait.
Yea, it's always great to work security at concerts, especially at an amusement park where you get almost a dozen acts coming through, not only do you get to see them for free, but they actually pay you. My problem is I could never enjoy it, once I switched that mindset into security mode, I was locked in. In other words, as a fan, I'd be like, OMG, that's such and such, not so much anymore now that I'm a lot older. Like I saw The Jets last night and could have run over to get their autograph and pictures, but I'm like, I'm not 16 anymore, they're people just like me. But as security, no matter who it is, I go into protect mode. There was one time I was totally surprised though, I wasn't in awe, just shocked, but there was some kind of company announcement, a pretty big one from what I gathered, the entire company shut down, we had about 10 officers, I was a flex with about a half dozen others, but we weren't told what the meeting was about, just stand there and check badges. So I'm literally the last one posted, like the very last one, and I was mad too because I saw a few of the officers had really good positions, and I got stuck in the entryway leading into the cafeteria, all the doors were locked, no one allowed in, just stand there. I don't know how long I had been standing there, it seemed like forever, but all of a sudden this large group of suits came walking in, i mean, there were suits, along with cameramen, just a ruckus, and I was like wtf? I couldn't see what they were fussing about, or even who they were talking to, I couldn't see anything, but then again, I wasn't trying too hard. So this lasts a few seconds until they start to go into the cafeteria, the red sea kind of parts and standing right there in the middle was Steven Spielberg, Once again, I was like wtf? The kind of security I always did was the typical office building security, sit at a desk, check id's, walk around the building once an hour, it's not everyday Steven Spielberg just walks into your AO.
I'm just happy that I grew up in one of the best decades for music. Looking back after hearing today's music, the 80s were AWESOME! I'm 46 years old....cannot believe it's been it's been 41 years since this song came out and it's STILL a banger
Go! Just saw them last night. At 72 years old he’s still jumping around and having a great time. But you never know when the show will be over. Don’t wait.
My sister I can only imagine your pain but, I hope this helps. A very wise person once told me that the person isn't really dead as long as one person remembers them, they just aren't as close as we would like them just now. The person told me this after I lost a very close friend to an OD when I was 18. I didn't get it at the time. Time passed and they were right. It doesn't take much of a trigger to bring back the memories and they are right next to you again. When we get to the other side and we find that person we lost we will be complete again. That wise person was my Mom and she had a way about her that seemed to make things make sense even when nothing made sense. Thanks Mom, I was listening, even if it didn't look that way at the time. Be well and safe, peace to you and yours.
I am 31, born and raised in Europe. Never even been to the States. But this song makes me reminisce about and nostalgic for my childhood in small town Indiana in the ‘70s.

「Keep on lovin you」 is speedwagon's stand. It activated afterwards his death. Its ability is to give hope and luck to all of the Joestar bloodline. One of the main abilities of the stand is 「Speedwagon Foundation」, where it helps and benefits the Joestar's on any of their bizarre adventure financially and physically, but also mainly, emotionally.

When was a junior in high school, our class had the opportunity to have REO Speedwagon perform at our JR/SR prom. REO put the word out over a tri-state area that they were for hire at proms for $2500. We had 5K in our class treasury. I tried to get the class officers and student council to go with it. They wouldn't let loose of the money. That was way back in 1974!!!
80s music never went away for me. Been listening all these years, it's just that our kids discovered the greatness of our youth! long live the 80s baby!
Amazing track. I bought this song on REO Speedwagon's High Infidelity LP when it first came out in 1980. It went #1 in many countries because it had a lot of hits on it.
This makes me think of my step dad this was his favorite band of all time ❤. It takes a strong man to come in and love his step children whole heartedly as his own. Reo has such a special place in my heart forever 👍
When I was 13-14 I made a video for my brother's birthday and I used this song for backround music. In this video i put pics of my parents, my brother and me and all the memories we had, so it ended up being a family appreciation video. Now I am 18 and listening to this song makes me think about nothing other than how much I love my family, and how simple life was back then and how much we've grown.
Humans were made for loving, made by loving and will never die (because love never dies) but keep in mind that self love comes first. You OUGHT to set apart those who are not to your favor.

One of my top favorite songs of the Band Reo Speedwagon. It's now 2023 and it's still good!
I got u paul u going lose
So much passion... emotion... Connection. I only listen to 80s music. Those were the days when music was music. She departed after 40 yrs of being together. Such class and beauty.
I remember I was at the barbershop on a rainy day back in the day and this song came on the radio, every time it rains I think about this song and what it means, still sounds good after all of these years, could listen to this song all day
Hola tú sabes el nombre de la mujer que participo en ese videoclip
"When I said that I loved you, I meant that I loved you forever."
Didn't expect old music to capture what I'm feeling right now so strongly.
Yeah well, Now ya know....... We've ALL been there ~ Done that !! When you hit the
end of that "LOVE" it hurts but get thru it & I'll guarantee you this much >> I'd never
trade back all the good(loving) to not go thru the painful break-up ^ Never ^
I hope things are well w/ you. peace to aLL
Yep , totally agree i'm 49 and just got back in contact with a girl who i knew in her teens , she is 34 and just starting on that road.....some weeks are tough as can only video call other weeks are great. I hate not being with her or seeing her ,That line i'm desperate to tell her
Welcome to the 80s

Que Maravilloso fue la música de los 70,80 y 90 qué aún la seguimos escuchando y nos trae los buenos recuerdos de felicidad.🤩🎶🎼🎵✌🏻
Don’t forget the’60’s the music of that era gave rise to all the great music & songs since
En pleno 2023 debo decir que es un tema brutal un ritmo que le da la guitarra Electronica es épico el tema lastima que la nueva generación no sepa apreciarlo.
It's like beyond a classic....such a simple song but one the very best song of our time!

I’m 31 I grew up listing to classic rock as a kid my parents Jam it all day N still to this day’ classic rock will always be alive ❤️

Amazing track. I bought this song on REO Speedwagon's High Infidelity LP when it first came out in 1980. It went #1 in many countries because it had a lot of hits on it.

When I was 13-14 I made a video for my brother's birthday and I used this song for backround music. In this video i put pics of my parents, my brother and me and all the memories we had, so it ended up being a family appreciation video. Now I am 18 and listening to this song makes me think about nothing other than how much I love my family, and how simple life was back then and how much we've grown.
great post congrats
