I'm 38 and I would be losing my mind, going bonkers at Jam (who is 58 here!) dropping these classic killers one after another. This generation is so disappointing.
I imagine the young people it does attract are the hipster types that are just there because it's cool to go and see a musical pioneer. Young people do dance and go crazy at festivals, especially if it's drum and bass or hiphop.
couldn't agree more. the opening track would make all of Tomorrowlands bounce up and down if it was played by Martin Garrix but the crowd here has no idea how to enjoy the music or what Mark Loffel and Rolf Ellmer did for dance music, like most people wouldn't recognise Mark Pritchard (of Global Communication) and several other pioneers. Good to see Jam put all of his talent behind the set. Very rarely do you have a classically trained musician with a guitar diploma who has AKAIs and stuff in his studio and can play the kind of set to put Armin van Buuren to shame! This guy is the real deal.

The Last Time i danced to Marc Spoon live was at Mayday 01. And it was great! Lots of Dancing, my Ride left with my Jacket and my Money, tried to steal a Jacket without luck, kissed some Girls to get under their Jacket, get Home by Train 200km without a Ticket. And of course i say yes to another Excess.
I've always liked Jam & Spoon, they are not afraid to play trance and techno in the same set. There was even some uplifting trance and hard house in there, just the right amount to not make it cheesy. The crowd look like they've been partying for 2 days straight and just want to go to bed! They couldn't even muster up any energy for open your mind!
Jam el Mar was the studio man - And this video shows - He still is. Marc was the beast on the raves. Couldn't Mix but drives the crowd crazy with the right track at the right time. RIP Marc.

@@colintraveller 100% right dude. My observation is, yes it's great music and excellent lighting, but the venue is too lit up. It appears more like a concert than a club. The dancers as pretty as they are aren't dancing to the beat. I remember back in the 90's going to clubs when they were dark & had a more underground atmosphere about them. What we see here, it looks very commercial. I don't blame the crowd. As much as I love Jam and Spoon and trance music in general, that place just doesn't appear to carry the same vibe I was used to. Not sure I would be dancing much either.
We all get older. It's like going to an Orbital gig. Lots of us now have families and jobs the next day. These gigs are often mud week. Life that is what is wrong with this crowd. 🌸

Millennials they totally think they know everything but they can't seem to be there in that moment! for them it was just a night for us ravers it was an experience!!! no cameras no mobiles... just you and the music and the outfits and the djs... there was never a crowd... so sad :(
