We were booked at Sandals Royal Barbados in November for 11 nights. Unfortunately we had to change our plans and ended up going to Sandals South Coast in Jamaica instead. Barbados made it so impossible with their Covid-19 testing requirement that we had to change to Jamaica. There was no way possible to take the Covid test within 72 hour of arriving and then have the results sent to their government no less than 24 hours of arrival. In Ct. it’s taking at least three to four days to get test results back with the high volume of people being tested.
Also from what we heard you then have to be tested again within so many days after arriving to Barbados. Neither Jamaica nor St. Lucia does that. We were also in St. Lucia in September and didn’t have to retest.
At least Jamaica gives you ten days to be tested and have the results back. St. Lucia required you to be tested no more than 7 days before arrival .
So until Barbados makes changes in their unrealistic requirements we will not be visiting that island anytime soon.

I was under the impression that though you have a negative test upon arrival you are meant to stay in your hotel or at least on the hotel grounds... At the time of the boat ride had you received your second test? There are so many conflicting rules that I am confused so I cancelled my trip till next year.... Great vlog btw👍
Thank you. I was only there for 3 days so I didn’t need to have the 2nd test and I was confused about the regulations because they had just changed. The people running the dive trip didn’t know I hadn’t gotten the 2nd test so I slipped through a loophole and none of us caught it until after. Do I shouldn’t have been able to dive. It was a mistake that they let me dive. You will need to wait for the results of your 2nd test to leave the property. I didn’t know and they didn’t realize I had just arrived. Let me book your next trip! Have fun!
Where can you buy the fast track when you arrive in Barbados to go through quickly and do you know how much it is. Also are you required to go on the resort tour of the property.

Hi, hope you’re doing well. My husband and I are going to this resort for our honeymoon in November and we are not sure how many days before the trip should we get tested.. I know sandals require a test 72 hours prior to the trip but what if we don’t get the results on time? When did you get tested before your trip ? Thank you
Hi Nina. The Barbados Government requires that you do the test draw within 72 hours of arrival and your results must be received in enough time to submit them on the immigration form within 24 hrs of your arrival. I used mytruthtest.com for $130 and had my results in about 24 hrs. All the links to the required information is in the description above and I go through the entire process on the video. I heard a rumour that if you were coming from a high risk country, you weren't allowed on the beach until you receive a second negative result. Did you encounter anything like this?
No, I explain in the video the circumstances when you are quarantined in your room and cannot leave, otherwise you have full access to all the resort activities that are on property including the beach and pools.

@@TheLifeTalkPodcast If you don't have the negative PCR test that was taken within 72 hrs of arrival act the airport, with written proof, then you must take the test at the airport (you pay for it), and then you are quarantined in a special quarantine building at the resort and can't leave the room until you get the negative results. If it's positive of course, you can't leave. It takes from 1-5 days for the results to come in.
