- www.playthisrif... presents Mike Watt on John Coltrane, Mowtown Bass Player James Jamerson, and Keith Moon playing against John Entwistle. More Watt lessons at www.playthisrif...
I remember seeing this guy ply with Firehose in the '80s and my God was he amazing. What an inspiration to young bass players.
Watt rules. Gotta love the enthusiasm and admiration...
He seems like a really good guy. Certainly a great bass player.
Mike Watt is such a gentle teacher.
would listen to watt all day
"I know a lot of stuff is marketed on genre, but part of our duty is [to] ruin all that." - Mike Watt
Genius! The music industry is changing, reluctantly as always. It is the duty of the artists to drag the industry into the 21st century or destroy it entirely. Either move with the music or get out of the way!
"Mooney maybe didn't have great time, but Entwistle...had some time!" There it is folks, the secret to the alchemy of the Who. Mike always nails it. I could listen to him talk about music all night.
A legend giving props to the legends ! Watt isThe Great Sage!
This is SOOO SOOO GOOD!!!
Incredibly inspiring ...
Thanks for uploading.
If Coltrane was listening to the bass, you know it must have something to say. Watt rules.
Ginger Baker said in "beware of Mr Baker" that the most important thing a musician should have is "Time"
And all those cats Watt names here have Time.
Mike Watt would make a great music educator. He's so passionate and knowledgeable.
man, what i would do to see that happen again!
The Casbah!! Airplanes and all!! Many Watt sightings there :)
He's so cool!!!
when your Mike Watt of San Pedro your allowed to say and do what you want!
he's the fucking man.
Why is Shaun white in this video?
@ptolemny I'd disagree with that, there is no substitute for a live setting and trying to replicate what you do in the ease of the rehearsal space with the heat and the lights and the weight of playing live
Good question, I wonder if Moon ever did play a closed hi hat? I'll investigate.
i totally agree so much more than this musician.yeah! james jamerson(r.i.p.),jack bruce, geezer butler, ohhhhh man! john entwistle(r.i.p.) and let's not forget our man mike watt.keep playing that bass guitar man!
how high is this guy?
Who Are You i think
No disrespect, but I gotta disagree with Watt about the live show being "the real deal." A band can get into the jam and play just as hot when nobody is there as when there are thousands present; no external validation is necessary. I think Watt would agree.
@motorwawt: I think yours is my favourite comment I've ever seen on You Tube. Thank you.
3:15
yeah, i agree... just silly
you probably rehearse.
If you're a Watt fan, you'll get that joke...
I don't think a white guy should use the word "cat" to describe anything but felines
then dont
Funny you should say this because there's PLENTY of country guys reffering to each other as "cats"
Mike Watt, ballsack..
that's just ridiculous.
