That poor mother. The heartbreak is hard to imagine.
Aw man, heartbreaking indeed! Being a former nurse and standing back while they were doing lifesaving measures on him must have been brutal! Witnessing some machinery doing compressions? For some reason they’re bound by law to keep doing CPR even if the victim is cold. If you call emergency services, they’ll guide you thru resuscitation. If you refuse for any reason, you’re asked if that’s your final answer. No then? Ok, you’re saying that you’re unwilling to do breaths on this blue person? Yes, it’s futile at this point!
I’m not surprised that they’ve invented a chest compressions machine. Cuz doing CPR is tiring. They have to switch out rescue workers after 5 full minutes of it. It probably looks archaic and sounds even worse. Not something to watch being done to your child.

I think that everyone that is caught selling fentanyl should receive a mandatory life sentence. That’s the only way to discourage individuals from selling it

You have to brutalize teens with warnings. drill it into them everyday what is happening. no such thing as too much. So what if they think you are annoying. I bet this mom wishes she had
You have to set examples for your kids for sure, and instill good values in them. The trouble today is, too many parents smoke weed themselves, drink alcohol, and so on.
At the end of the day, an individual will decide their fate. Regardless of their backgrounds, parents, friends, etc. You never know who will be the next victim.

At 16, you think you're grown. I had good parents and wasn't a bad kid, but I would lie about where I was. Kids experiment and need to grow up and find the world. This isn't her fault.

Yes, that's part of the problem. The government went after big pharma and dr.'s which only created a horrible heroin epidemic. But then came the fentynl which is pouring across our s. border and could be stopped tomorrow if our politicians cared about us. The cartel is lacing every drug with that poisonous garbage that they're whipping up into dirty batches. Fentynl is now the leading cause of death for 18-48 year olds but the president is tone deaf! In my small community a 7 year old brought fentynl pills to school a couple of months ago here in Oregon! Fortunately she asked the teacher what they were and the teacher immediately called the cops. But had she given them to her friends there could've been many deaths. This will continue until they stop the illegals from bringing it here!
Making everything legal isn't the answer either. The internet is loaded with these tragic stories. Why are 12, 13, 14, 15 year old kids actively seeking out Percocet? That's a bigger mystery. Also Xanax. These are young kids. Any pill you obtain illegally has a high percentage of being fake and laced with Fentanyl. We need parents and schools to be very involved, not after the kids die but when they are pre-teen before the problems hit. I don't have the answers, I don't think anybody does. I feel so sorry for the families these people leave behind.

It's a thought, but not a very good one. Taking drugs for recreation is EVERYWHERE. be it alcohol, weed, or whatever. It's the norm in 2023. Parents are giving their kids the drugs, they're everywhere out there.
If these kids could only see what their choices do to their parents.
the most terrifying thing about this is I remember being a teenager and I don't think you could have ever convinced me there were so many fake pills on the street that I'd have any kind of chance of ending up with one. invincible...

I lost my 16 year old and my 29 year old son and my baby brother all within 5 months. I feel your pain. The worse part is, my family and friends don't know how to talk with me so they all stay away. I think it's better for them to just not talk about it because it is so painful. I so wish I had a understanding friend or family member who would just give me a hug or sit and let me talk.
I have learned through it all that I don't need them as I once thought I did. Christ gives me a peace that the world can't comprehend. This is the only thing that gives me the power to continue on.
I know how it is not having family that can and will try to understand your pain. It is very unfortunate that they don’t even try to be there for you in any way. Sadly many families are that way. Just a little bit of understanding goes a long way. Just a simple ‘listening ear’ can be all you need to get you through sometimes. Praying for you to find support in your heartache.

I honestly hope they never understand what I am feeling. Like you, my hope is in Jesus not this world. If this life was all that there is I would be hopeless. One day our tears will be wiped away🙏🏻

I understand how you feel I lost my son at 31 years old to an overdose on his birthday January 18, 2020 and I still cry for him. He was my youngest kid and I still cried till this day you never lose the pain of losing a child, may God bless you and keep you in peace

The machine she’s talking about is the worst. It’s not a pretty sight. It’s pretty violent and traumatic. I’ve seen it leave burns and broken bones. It’s just horrible. Bless her heart.
I have never seen a person in as much pain and anguish as the parent of an addict/alcoholic who’s recently passed away. It’s like I can actually feel their utter despair and helplessness. It’s makes me sick to my stomach.

He was late for work which was usual lol but his boss our friend called looking for him. My x husband his dad went into his room and he was gone. My beautiful 30year old son. I feel sorry for this mother and the mothers to follow because we all know this isn't stopping anytime soon. I feel really sorry for the higher up drug cartels that bring this stuff to the streets and kill lids because God sees all here on earth and knows all and I don't know how they sleep at night knowing the just took a life by selling this drug and put it on the streets . They will one day answer to God because we don't live forever and I wouldn't want to be them that is for sure. This is so sad but scary really scary I have children and grandchildren and it is really scary to know that it could happen to me and it could happen to anyone out here . Tell you children yes by all means tell them but we all should be demanding for really intense sentencing and punishment for them selling it and demand more be done because someone high up in society is profiting off of this drug and they need to start getting to the root cause of it . But like everything else that is going on that we all know is going on it is just another thing that we all just basically accept, when will we Americans all band together and protest real change in this country because this is a pandemic too and someone somewhere is profiting big times and the cost is death and they don't care.

There are only perc 5, 7.5, and 10s. There are NO SUCH THING AS PERC 30s. Anyone telling you such doesn't know what they are talking about. And I have never seen a blue perc. I use to be addicted to these and have done thousands prior to the fent problem.

See that's the thing about these fake pills is ten can be dosed properly but one can be hot and if the person that takes the hot pill doesn't have a tolerance their gone. If it's fent laced heroin there could be a hot spot in the dope.

I know they did all they could to save your son the second they resorted to AED. AED Machines are used intermittedly between manual CPR compressions...I'm not a nurse,but made sure to get trained because so many aren't.
