The watch is fantastic and is much more enjoyable to have than an expensive and fragile Swiss watch, that only shows the time and day of the week. Casio has great and reliable watches for everyone. If you are not happy with this one, you will surely find another that brings you satisfaction and pleasure to use. Congratulations on the video. This watch brings back fond memories of my father and grandfather. I certainly prefer it in the old style.
I own a 50qs-17 and a 52qs-14b. Casio have done a great job here reproducing that aesthetic, but the pricing is very close to that of an original, so I think buying the real thing is a better investment. That said you could wear one of these and not worry too much about dinks and scratches. Paired with a thick leather strap they look even better
I want that watch, but with black color with a gold lcd background for the LCD display. I used to have a Seiko like that and would really like it to look similar. Is the battery replaceable? Great review.
Good review! This Casio clearly has it over the PRX (although that watch obviously has a nicer bracelet...which it should, since that's mostly what you're paying for). I will say I was about to click "buy" onbthe A1100, but went forcyet another Casio Id forgotten about but also seriously liked - the Edifice EFA-120D-1AV (such memorable midel names, right?), but Ill likely still get the A1100D before long as well...and maybe get a mesh bracelet to replace the stock version.
For $60, I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat. For $120, I really need think about it, because there are a lot of other pretty cool watches around that price point that are more than a gussied-up A168. Sapphire crystal would have pushed it over the top. Absolutely looks best on a brown leather strap.
For me the dealbreaker was the lack of a 24 hour mode. The date is not so much. I can remember the date all day, once I,ve seen it. (Or remember what day it was yesterday.)
Imo overpriced. No real features, poor water resistance, no sapphire glass, subpar bracelet. You're pretty much paying for the stainless steel case and retro look.
This is exactly what I was thinking, what on earth are they smoking when they decided that ''yeah this is definitely fair pricing'' A digital watch with cheap ass folded bracelet, looks cool and all but what else exactly am I getting with this one? With the same price range I can modify a ga 2100 with full high quality stainless steel that also looks cool and shit.
All the Casio digital should retail no more than £100. Since they produce in China, Casio don’t have the same standards as they did when they where made in Japan.
Nice piece.....Casio could have made it Solar, enough room on the Dial for Solar Panels....As Snap on Case Backs are a pain in the proverbial to remove / refit.....!!!. ...A cool 70,s vibe.....Far better looking, AND cheaper than the PRX
I just picked my A1100D-1EF today. Absolutely love it. Casio has absolutely nailed the retro/vintage look with this model.
It literally looks like the vintage model after what they made this one. lol
I have bought it and I'm happy. Simple and vintage.

Helpful review. Thanks!
More Casio vintage reviews please!

If you like the look of this casio don't let any qualms people have put you off. I got the black version at a discount and don't regret it.
My parents bought the original Q52QS to me back in 1979 or 80 on holyday over in the UK. Just found out about the A1100D and ordered it instantly.
What was the price back then ? 1980

I would like to see a Casio with a bracelet quality on par with the PRX.
Enjoy the edifice & thanks for watching

I immediatly changed the strap when i got mine. With some nato straps it's sexy as hell !
What is the lug size?
Thank you for the review.
It’s nice but has its flaws. Light is very hard to press . And date isn’t display. Adjusting the band was a nightmare too .had to take 3 links off

Do love the face but not too keen on the bracelet so would look to find a bracelet more to my liking to go with this watch if I was to purchase it.
Проблема этих часов в отсутствии 24 часовой системы ,что мешало Casio настроить цифру 2?
I would like a challenge between this casio and the timex t80 steel
Gold or silver one???
Black
beautiful, but man... can't Casio make decent solid metal bracelets in their most expensive models at least???

... haha, you 're so right, but it also shows, you don't get it 😉
@@christianjoachimgruber2773and what exactly is it that I dont get?
Everything you say is true and yet I still rate this watch. Improved water resistance would be one of my biggest wants

But it's Casio..no needs more..
I love the look of the bracelet but it's an awful hair puller, had to switch it out
For the price Casio could have added at least 50meters. Anyone agrees?

From my personal experience with half a dozen or so Made in China Casios over the years, I beg to disagree.
The digital prx has no History! Tissot simply placed a digital display in a watch based on the 1979 Seastar!
Not a worth! Over priced
Folded links wtf dealbreaker
Yeh agree they are disappointing.
Not too difficult to adjust, but feels much cheaper
