To me, this felt a lot more like a showcase than an elim, felt like TwoH didn't plan on getting through and used his time to demonstrate his art form. It's not like there was no energy, I reckon he hit everything that he wanted to, but focused more on being true to himself. Big ups to him.
exactly. Just him and his music without focusing on any gbb criteria. If someone is saying that this was boring then i guess such person has no experience in listening to other music than trap or dubstep. There are so many genres and "buildup and drop" is not always the point.

This elimination just gets better and better with age. I wasn't super convinced on livestream, decided it was pretty good when the video dropped, and now 2 years later I think it's one of the best elims from 2021
I don't think it's necessarily bad that his structure and arrangement is unorthodox or the fact that the crowd didn't connect with his piece. Artistry as we all know is subjective and the suspense in my opinion is valued higher than predictability. I feel like it depends whether you portray beatbox as music or you portray it as something of its own, something unlike no other art. Two H is someone who truly pushes these boundaries.
Even if you define it just as music it still can be unorthodox, hard to dance to or it can be really weird musically. And all of these things and such doesn't mean that it is actually bad.

I really enjoy you telling us what your thoughts were back when you were at the event judging. This makes people with almost no beatbox experience understand what is going on up on stage. He loses now a bit because beatboxers absorbed his sounds, which are sick. But he's the one who made/promoted these sounds. They're just too sick so everyone started learning them. That's crazy, his sound arsenal is super sick and basically meta. Used to be ULTRA ahead of his time, how sick can one be.
i understand where hes coming from when he doesnt wanna show anyone anything. the last time he showed something to someone they took it and used it again him in a battle.. hes a dope artist and id hate for something like that to happen again so i respect his decision...
@@gabo7596 Two.h was talking about a cool sound he learnt with pepouni and madox once before gbb 2017, and those two were literally BEGGING him to show them the sound And he did in the end, but alexinho was in the same room as them so he heard it and tried to learn it. He did. The rest is history

Do you think the Alexinho counter in 2017 is the reason he keeps to himself when battling? And now that u point it out, he does make a habit of standing at an angle on stage, I just never thought too much of it. And please try facilitate a battle between u!!! Would be so colddd
The sound in the venue really wasnt great on Day 1, so I clearly remember how hard it was to connnect with his music since alot of his strengths lie in sound quality and textures and a large portion of that was lost to the general acoustics in the room. I don't think his ranking would have improved though. For the first time ever, Two.H might have fallen behind the current level, he said it himself on his social media. He is still one of my favorites and I hope he will return once more 🙏🙏
He didn't fell behind his style just doesn't fit the mainstream crowd. I have known two.H back since dharni vs two.h and back then he always stood out with his unorthodox style
yeah the room was way too big for the sound system...comparing this to 2018 gbb sound quality you can see that napoms sub bass and liprolls were all not that hard hitting.

Alexinho just said a sentence in polyphonic and then did a fast pattern with suckerpunch (Two.h did not use polyphonic in his second round, so what exactly was alexinho countering?)

Two.H doesnt fit in with the Mainstream crowd and thats why I personally think he wasnt ranked higher. And honestly, I think it should stay that way, especially for a battle format. Music is such a subjective thing, u can only rank it and quantify using the only objective thing about it, which is the majority of the people and what they like. Two.H stands much better as an artist rather than a battler, and thats no wrong. Personally i prefer his style and his sounds, and all around composition in general over many of the higher rankers, but thats not what the majority think, nor was it what the judges believe either, and thats fine. Two.H will stay Two.H because of his bizarre sounds and compositions, and thats why I liked his set way more than some of the other sets!!!

The last 2 mins were really bad. His liprolls weren’t coming he lost all of his breath and everything just went down from there. If he could have kept his composure then for sure Top 16
