    I feel like this whole interaction was Reeves asking what he was suppose to do in the play the coach has drawn up, but LeBron didn't like that play so he changed it up after the Timeout and that was why Reeves had that fucked up look in his eyes, because he realised that he was wrong about the play and the next second he realised that LeBron was changing the play.

      AD, Lebron, were never a great basketball fit thats the issue. They had a one year window during the pandemic which was Lebron was one of the major forces opposing sitting out games in reaction the George Floyd protest he knew that probably be his only year. Do you think even that Lakers could beat the Bucks that won the Championship? And this reminds me of 2018 Cavs team where they added a lot of big names past their prime like D-Wade and Isaiah Thomas and everyone knew it was a bad fit to start with but thought it could work due to overwhelming talent similar thing with the Nets speaking as a fan.

    I think Lebron was just confused on this one. It looked more like Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves thought they were doing the right thing based on AB's confusion initially and then AD's confusion after. My guess is Lebron had their responsibilities flipped, and that also explains why AD said I thought that was for me, with the grab the ball hand clap gesture. Lebron's reacting with no words or a head nod, then he points to AD and it's business as usual, not like he was just disregarding AD. I think that's a fair take it seems to me this lines up with the miscommunication thing AD mentioned in the interview.

      Actually i think lebron is a genius on the court and can read through different schemes and probably switched up the play mid game when he saw adjustments needed to be made, jjst like he did in Miami. Wade Mario bosh etc etc understood and were elite athletes that could make quick challenging changes .. i don’t think this group can comprehend the true foundations of the game.

When the most scrutinized player in the world is off his spot a few times, Kevin Arzola will make up his mind that lebron isn’t a good offensive or defensive player. Despite his 1.6 steals and block a game defense, and his spectacular 29 8 and 6 offense on GREAT efficiency. Damn, that's crazy, and lebron also said once "2 points aren't just 2 points, it's a lot" so seeing them lost and okay with it is weird. Having everyone on the page is a MUST, maybe that's part of their problem now, but can also be a one time thing.
    Reeves should have had the courage to share his info with Lebron, what the coach said, and making them work together for a conclusion. But his submissiveness ended causing this (he basically just "listened to the boss" and stopped thinking).

    When you're getting advice from No ball movement Lebron, you know you're leaving soon as your rookie contract is up. Reeves is gonna look back in 10 years and think, "what were those guys all about? I hit game winners and outplayed them all season. Lebron being great is all lights, camera, and show biz."

    So how would something like this happen? Just run the play, right? Or is that too simple?
    Are people paying attention during team meetings and practice? Do they have practice, or do people miss practice sometimes? If someone misses practice, then why don't you go over what you missed with them so that they don't fall behind? I have more questions but that would make this comment infinitely longer.
    Something is up with the Lakers🤔

  • @Jameszhangdude
    @Jameszhangdude 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I suspected this all along, but there’s a big difference between how a team like Warriors plays vs how Lakers with Lebron. I’m not saying Lebron’s method is bad or anything, but his style encourages everything to fall on him. So you’ll have Lebron express that he’s tired, you’ll have everyone else standing around and not always know what to do in a given night and may not always be alert. But with a team like the Warriors, everyone is engaged and everyone is alert and everyone knows what to do.
    The reason I don’t think Lebron’s style is all bad is that there are a lot of really simple plays that is just so beautiful to watch. His passes can be very sharp and it just removes the need for fancy drawn out plays. So I’m not that critical of Lebron, but that he and the team need to figure out the adjustments to work with his style.

    • @Obiamajoyisrmd
      @Obiamajoyisrmd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Meh, nah. Warriors have team continuity. Lakers don’t. That’s the difference. Warriors can run the same sets from six years ago with at least 1-2 guys on the court having done it before. Lakers can’t.

    • @Irichan08
      @Irichan08 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly. It's been like this since his early Cleveland days. Everything is predicated on Lebron shouldering most of the responsibility. Lebron literally is the system. His talent is a gift and a curse at the same time. The main reason why he won in Miami was because he played under a Pat Riley system that had been in place for years.

    What’s interesting is that ppl have been calling LeBron a basketball savant his whole life but now that he has a team where everyone’s actually relying on his wisdom, all of those years without proper coaching and mentorship are starting to show.
    LeBron’s a great player, don’t get me wrong. But where he’s coming up short are in places that shouldn’t be a player’s responsibility but for some reason he got the reputation for being good. Like, roster construction, calling plays on the court, strategizing in huddles, and substitutions in some cases.
    No player should ever be expected to do those things but LeBron has been credited (or accused) of doing those things. But what’s interesting is that now he’s on a team that could actually use those skill sets. But LeBron is showing that he’s actually just a good basketball player.
    Which is all he ever had to be in the first place. I just find it incredibly interesting.

      this is a fat as fuck stretch bro. Lebrons basket ball IQ is tremendously high & you’ll hear a shit ton of players agree with that. blaming lebron for his poor teams performance when hes playing at an mvp level at an ancient age is crazy. maybe hes not as high IQ as he was 15 years ago but hes still puttin insane numbers and work. you clearly don’t ever watch him if you think hes just a good player & his bball IQ is just “assumed” lmfaoo. what a joke take this shit is. some yt shit for sure.
      edit* & yes Lebron still is a bball savant. you realized he took an absolute dogshit team like the Cavs to the finals right? he’s shown he turns 20-50 teams to a championship contender. The lakers suck ass but thats not lebrons fault when your 2 other stars are noshows.

    • @TheGbelcher
      @TheGbelcher 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spoopyopy I would expect Lebron’s speed and jumping ability to decrease over 15 years, but shouldn’t his BBALL IQ increase with more experience? Why would it decrease?
      And to be clear, I’m not blaming him for his team’s performance. I’ve always believed BBALL to be a team sport and I always push back on ppl who judge greatness by counting rings.
      My only point is ppl who are incredibly great at one thing often create a halo effect where ppl start believing they can be good at completely unrelated skills.
      I think it’s probable the LAL talked to LeBron about what kinds of players he needs around him. I also think it’s probable that LeBron could’ve vetoed the Westbrook deal before it happened. I also believe a basketball savant would able to foresee the kind of fit Westbrook has been on this team.
      LBJ will be a hall of famer and will be remembered as one of the best players ever to play. But the case for basketball savant is clearly much weaker now than it was 3-4 years ago.

    I think LeBron knew what he was talking about, but he didn't effectively communicate it to the rest of the guys. I have the same problem. I tell the people I am supervising how to do a task, but I skip some steps, because I assume that it is common sense, and people of a certain level of experience should be able to fill in the gaps. But, they don't fill in the gaps, and I end-up looking as if I was talking Mandarin to German speakers.
    You have to teach people as if they are children, and hold their hands through the process, but you have to do it in a way that empowers them and they don't notice that you are treating them like children.
    Just because you have an ability to see the chess board a couple moves ahead, you should not assume that other people can.

      In situations like this it’s difficult. The NBA is a top tier billion dollar organization. Taking liberties and “filling the gaps” can end badly when you undermine the organization’s ethics and principles. I work in a card house, and I don’t do anything that doesn’t follow policy, for the reason that we’re handling money. Not following directions can have direct implications to employment, and I can’t imagine the NBA is more forgiving. It’s ultimately the supervisor’s obligation to clearly communicate tasks and steps. It’s not a common sense thing, it’s a corporate procedure thing.
