The Outside Xtra Xmas Challenge 2019 begins HERE! Luke and Ellen compete to win the best of seven festive tasks. Today's task? A Pokemon catch-a-thon... Tune in tomorrow for Day 2! 🎄
You guys should do a list of your most anticipated games for 2020. Mins is probably Watch Dogs Legion right now, until Ubisoft announces that the next Assassin’s Creed will launch next year
Luke, it's catch them all not smash them all to death:P Ellen, your reactions to Luke's deadly rampage were hysterically funny, it made the already great video perfect (You are great too Luke :P). Also i'm team Ellen (sorry Luke, but good luck to you too:)).
I hope Ellen wins just so next year purely to hear Luke's intro next year. "Last year it was Ellen, and the year before it was Ellen, and the year before that it was Ellen, but the year before THAT It was me"
“This challenge is to catch as many pokemon as possible on my account. The next one is to level up a Skyrim character as much as possible. Mine, that is. After that, we’ll farm some gold, and then: the household chores...” XD
"Everything it touches turns to corpse." Oooh, a little early, Luke, or that would have been a great slogan for 2020. Better than last years: "That would have been cool if you'd done it."
Luke: It's worthy to avoid Bronzors because they're so annoying Also Luke: Runs out of time and misses the last pokemon by a second because he was avoiding Bronzors
Ellen apparently DOES have a maniacal laugh! When Luke counted up his catches and realizes he got 4 instead of 5, a wave of pure evil emanated from my speakers.
“Attack Harshly fell’ maybe thunderbolt won’t knock it out. *knocks it out*” I love this. 😂 thunderbolt is a special attack move so attack stat doesn’t affect it. I hope Ellen wins! Sorry Luke! 😂
@@jamiechristensen6433 ugh that's even worse. Johnny is actively enabling them lol. Eldritch Blast has no fire starting capabilities. Thunder damage is sonic damage, not electrical. I mean their ability to murder Johnny's plans is absolutely hilarious but half the time it only happens because Johnny has no instinct to enforce rules
Ellen pleading with the pokémon to stay in the ball is exactly how I play too. "Come on, Cubone, stay in that ball and we'll see the world together! I'll help you find your mum!" Works every time.
Luke: “Once you go in the box, you don’t come out!” I can safely say that is the most terrifying thing I’ve heard related to a Pokémon game in a long time.
I love the contrast of OutsideXbox trying to help each other and offering advice, and OutsideXtra cheering against each other and laughing at the others failures. Lol
Ohh so many things wrong with Luke's attempts to capture pokemon lol The long time player in me wants to list them all but the troll who likes watching him struggle in me would rather just be amused >:3
Luke, the game will be way easier for you go look up a type chart. If the type of a move you use beats the type of the target, you do 2x damage (or 4x if you beat both types of the target). That's what it means when it says "super effective". Alternatively, if the type of the move is weak against the type of the target it does half damage (or a quarter if you are weak against both). At the same time, if the type of the move matches the type of your pokemon, you get a 1.5x damage bonus. Pull the chart up or print it out, it'll help you understand better what is happening in the game.
A strong start to Oxtra Xmas Challenges, but I will say that this felt like a tie to me as Ellen caught 5 and Luke's fifth capture had already started once the timer ran out.
I think this should have used the same kind of clock as basketball, so if the throw goes before the timer goes to 00:00, and the ball catches after it, it should count
If you ever do a challenge like this again, you could try having a system in place to catch pokemon with weaker balls. Like catching one in a Great Ball is 2 points, catching one in a regular pokeball is 3, and ultra ball is the standard one.
Tokat Storm what about stuff like quick balls or (if it was at night) dusk balls? would they get less than a full point given they’re significantly better under their required conditions than an ultra ball?
See, if you're gonna do this challenge on your own I'd say go for it. But I don't feel like Luke or Ellen are going to particularly put that much thought into it, especially since they only listed out the three balls I mentioned.
Pretty sure loads of people have this superstition. I had it when I was playing gen1 on the Gameboy. I also had a button combo that I'd hold/mash when the catching animation was playing for luck.
I hope Luke sees this. Vulpix needs a Firestone to evolve (Ninetales is very powerful and everyone should have one) and Pancham needs a dark type friend to be a bad influence on him to evolve (you'll like pangoro) just stick one of those Nuzleafs in your party and level pancham up
Still watching the video but I think he means it had a shining aura when he caught it. Those Pokémon that give watts when you catch them tend to have higher IVs than the average wild Pokémon. He did say it was strong because of the shininess. He made a lot of mistakes that only people unfamiliar with Pokémon games would make but I think this is just confusing wording.
1) I don't think you need to heal Pokemon that you send to boxes. They get healed automatically. 2) Stat increasing moves just increade your stats in that battle. They don't raise the catch rate. 3) Pressure just increases the amount of PP you or your enemy have to use. They also don't increase the catch rate.
This made me realise how badly I would've failed this challenge because I'd take the whole 15 minutes up trying to think of cute nicknames for my Pokemon
