So you cant just slap a new wheel/tire on without using a programmer to reprogram them? I just want to buy from fitment industries with tpms already installed and put them on... Thanks
the car does not act up - but it does not have a way for it to learn a new set of TPMS sensors by itself so the light on the dash will be on as a result. And you may get annoying Subaru Starlink messages (or Toyota's equivalent). If you are going to swap over to that new set full time, a one time reprogram may be more efficient. I swap back and forth between two sets quite often so I needed to unlock the 2nd set of codes and get them stored.
I have the newer Autel 508, updated, I selected the same 14-21 Camry option, but do not get the "Write current set.... Write Main/Second Set". Tapping theTPMS button in the glove box 3x does not do anything. Is this something the dealer has to enable or something skipped in the PDI? From what I can tell my car only has one set of TPMS enabled.
the button tap won't switch to a second set if there isn't a second set programmed as I understand it. Might have to fish around and find a different Toyota/Subaru option that will give the "write second set option". I'm no expert on these, just following a path a buddy outlined for me and documented on the video here what that was. Wish I could help more!
I really don't know much about the 1st gen BRZ/FRS to know if they have the two sets of TPMS stuff or not. If they do, maybe an adaptation of this method would work then.?
@@sappk4908 good tip - will see if any updates maybe allow the option directly on the 2nd gens then without having to choose the Camry option as the workaround
I was using whatever sensors TireRack preloads in their wheel and tire package - so I don't think it needs to be OEM since that worked for me. I imagine it would just need to be the right frequency for the car to pick up. I'm not an expert enough past there to offer much extra intelligence though.

Does this only work for Mx tpms sensors? I have a set of huf sensors and curious if it would work for any sensors with the right signal
I wish I knew more on sensor compatibility to be certain one way or the other - sorry!
Is it the same Camry for a 2013 FRS BRZ?

I’ve just bought a newer updated ts408, the option is on there now. If it is now on there, then you’ll need to update the firmware on the unit.

Will this method work with the Fitmend Industries (aftermarket) TPMS sensors or will I need a specific sensor for this to work?

@@kbrew8991 Fitment Industries TMPS sensors work with this method.

I bought my Autel tool off Amazon - was $199 before taxes, any shipping, etc.
