13:00 Actually, that's still a pretty good analogy. The room getting colder due to losing it's highest energy particles is pretty comparable to evaporative cooling.
13:55 take one marble as an example, when there is gravity, it has a constant acceleration towards the ground, there is still friction but it is much smaller than the gravity and bounce pad so it has little to no effect. But when there is no gravity and it is not contacting the bounce pad (which is like 99% of the time) the only force acting on it is friction so it is possible to stop it completely (there is still collision between marble but if it were to happen, the one hitting other marble will be slow down as well)
@@secawesome8543 this game has air friction, objects in space only keep their velocity because no friction occurs to slow them down, removing gravity doesn't remove friction
Hey remember when you used to do community world projects? I think it would be a great time to finally start a new one now that the survival update came out. Maybe a post apocalyptic world but any new community world project would be awesome. If you’re a viewer and you agree maybe if we all start commenting about it scrapman will pay attention.
The heat analogy is actually quite good. You could say that they bounce around until they change phases, at which point they leave and take energy out of the system
The reason why the things clip when going really fast is because of ray tracing. It’s a development technique usually used for bullets but is also used in other games because it saves a lot of space in checking where the thing is going to go before it gets there but if it goes fast enough then it bypasses the raytrace and clips through TLDR: thing go fast, thing go through Edit: the solution is making things thicker
Not even remotely the case. This is a general issue with most collision detection algorithms. When the physics steps forward (all physics engines divide time into individual steps) the position can change so fast that in a single step, the object is already beyond the thing you're trying to detect collision with, so it just goes straight through it. You can actually fix this issue by checking if the direction of the object's motion intersects with another object, then making the step size smaller until you detect a collision, or you hit some predefined limit. This is horribly inefficient, however, as it can end up causing tremendous lag with fast moving objects. Which is why it isn't used in all physics engines.
You ( Scrapman) should see what happens when you stack a bunch of bounce pads or boosters or marbles in the exact same spot. Because in my marble run game ( not marble world); when I stacked a bunch of fans, bounce pads or marbles in one spot, it resulted in 🔥ULTIMATE🔥DESTRUCTION🔥.
If you want it to replicate gas particles in a way that heats the way you were talking about, you need all of the collisions to be elastic, which means there is no net energy lost during the collisions.
If you go really far away from were your testing at, then you could save the world, leave the world, and then go back in. You'll have your camera go back to spawn. Just so you know!
My theory on why clumps of marballs apear in bounce rooms. The marballs hit each other causing them to lose speed, when a stationary marball is hit by a moving marball they would normally collect the movement and follow the direction of the collision. However because a marball can't start bounching on a bounce pad by sitting on it. This effectively removes the potential movement of a stationary marball and acts a bit like a newton's cradle, repelling the moving ball away. So this says why a marball isn't able to start bouncing even if hit. But wait, The pink marball started again so this is wrong? No, the marball already was moving but the movement increased after hitting hitting a side bouncer. Not to mention the idea of the direction of the moving marball hitting the stationary one. The moving marball stops because they hit a stationary marball at a weird angle still giving a bit of speed to the stationary marball but not able to retain its height for the bouncer to take effect. The clumps comes from this effect on hundreds of marballs hitting not only the stationary ones but also other marballs effectively caging them in a corner. The possibility of one of 2 moving marballs stopping after a collision with each other is unlikely bit possible.
Multiplayer Monday idea: You each build a boat with a vacuum pump connected to a chest filled with concrete. The goal is to sink the other ships by building on them using the vacuum pump. (Day 8)
