The sets recently came on sale on AmiAmi for 800-900 yen each depending on the set. They're also pretty affordable on Amazon for $15-$16 free shipping. While I do agree that their not the most impressive of sets Bandai has made, I'm happy its at least affordable and good looking for the most part. I'm on a pretty tight budget, and I was happy to at least grab this set for my boyfriend's birthday (who's a fan of figmas) ; thankfully he doesn't know these effects exist, so this will definitely surprise him.
Price point aside, would you use these for figures like the Flash running on water? Or is there something else for a dust cloud or running on water that might work better/cheaper
I can understand why you're disappointed but keep in mind that these were designed mainly for the AGP Kancolle figures, in the same way the recent Energy Aura effects were designed with DBZ in mind.
I would probably buy the wind effect parts if they were cheaper buy a couple dollars. They might be decent for DBZ fight scenes and flying. But, still 20 bucks seems like a bit of a rip off for those.
The blue effect parts might work for a Marvel character like Hydro or something.

Considering getting the blue ones. They'd go great with godzilla figures. You could make it look like he's wading through the sea.

I think the wind effect came out better. A little disappointing coming from tamashii nations

I'm not Impressed either... I'll pass. I wish they would make some backdrops sets instead.
Liking the idea of having some effects for figure posing...but these are quite overpriced...too bad. Good review though 🙂
