Fibre results in far more "stuff" going into the sewers (the Big Mac people will just be constantly constipated). The main issues are things like wet wipes and fat/oil poured down drains, but really this is required because the population of London is far bigger than when the Victorian sewers were built and it simply doesn't have the capacity anymore.
title is wrong. it isn't in use yet so it isn't keeping anything out of the thames. thames water is also being disingenuous about the 60 times it discharges, what's more relevant is the amount discharged not the number. it was fined £4m last year alone with one discharge lasting 30 hours. there was another discharge into the river coln which lasted for 745 hours.
We should've had advanced privy's that tackled any hygienic and health issues by now, can't shy away from necessary function or deprive nature of its food. If you place convenience over necessity you are risking destroying necessity.
This country has let in millions of refugees and imagrants and not done a thing to improve waste and sewage till now victorian water system for a small country now over populated and sewage running into rivers and seas. Disgraceful nothing has been done till now.

Didn't know London had underground super sewer as well as the sandal sewer above.
I'll give them 5 months before they need to deal with a backflow issue and find out its gonna need another years work to sort it out.

Maybe a London with the Thames river with clear water in a handful of years, I guess we will see.
The thames is full of sediment though so it will be murky regardless
