This video reminds me of an old monk whom we visited to gather materials for my mother's Phd. He was very charming when we are about to leave he prayed for us all and didn't accept the money my mother gave him. He said I didn't help you for money but if you want to give this donate it to the congregation and same he did with the snacks we gave him he was in his late 80 a few years back, even at that age he wasn't resting. almost all the monks there had hobbies and doing something to keep themselves busy.
Whenever a man or woman responds to the call of God to the religious life, their life begins to change as their focus on living moves from temporal things to spiritual things. It is truly a beautiful thing to have lived a life as long as the monk you speak of, and still hold on to what God has called hi to. Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching the video. Hello Jeff. Thank you very much for this delightful and very interesting upload. Please tell Brother Austin and Novice Philip that their soaps and lotion bars look sumptuous. Looking forward to your next video. God bless and see you soon.
This was very interesting to watch. What a beautiful place the abbey grounds are. Do they bake for own consuption or do they sell the bread they bake? At first I thought someone was walking with a big dog but it turns out to be this cute donkey that even swooshes his tail, walking up to his pasture. This was fun mr. Ed! You are blessed to be working in such a beautiful place and knowing that the bees provide so much for the abbey. Have a very nice day!
They give it away to the hungry. If you look at at Jeff’s videos, he gives a wonderful tour of the entire grounds and activities. It is absolutely lovey and loving.

I’m a soap maker. Luv the bee molds. I’ve made lotion bars before too. Shea butter is very moisturizing for dry skin, cracked heels on your feet and soothes hard working hands. Good stuff. Hope to see more soaping videos. You can use real honey in soap too but it’ll turn your soap brown. You can also add beeswax to your soap as well.
Thank you for your blessing and for watching, it is greatly appreciated. When the time comes, make sure you visit me when you get to the abbey. God's peace Gregory. Mr. Ed

This was neat to see. Hope you show us more like the beard balm, lip balm, soap other things they make with wax and honey from the amazing bees at the Abby.
Mr Ed, I love it when you show us the Abbey “workers” had a work. Whether making soap, bread, or coffins, the industry of the Abbey makes me think of medieval times. I’m wondering if there are also scribes workin away on parchments! What a wonderful place for you to use your time and knowledge to serve God. Janet
Most monks in Christian Monastries do agricultural and light industries work, regardless of the sect, the Egyptian Orthodox monastries has large scale farms that produce poultry, meat, dairy, pickles, fish and of course honey, there is a nun monastrey that is producing a herb based powder for weight loss, it is too effective that it helped me loose 20 kilos over a year without any complications, it is hard to put my hands on though

Jeff, novice Philip, and Brother Austin thanks for sharing how you make the hand lotion bars. Very interesting!!! I bet that room smells amazing!

@@janetdupree6353 Thank you. I will look for that video!

I once asked you for a tour of the abbey grounds, and this was darn close. I enjoy seeing the different parts of the abbey, the products made there, and the monks who make them. It reminds me of a little village, quiet and serene. Thank you for taking the time to show us a piece of your world at the abbey. xoxoxo
I couldn't agree more!
Hi, if my memory is not playing tricks on me, we did have an abbey tour about a year ago ?

Have a lovely day .

Mr. Ed
Thanks Jeff.... A completely delightful video.
Loved the video, I must visit the Abby. God bless
Thank you for your blessing and for watching, it is greatly appreciated. When the time comes, make sure you visit me when you get to the abbey. God's peace Gregory.
Mr. Ed
Love the video and would love to see more of the monksoap operation. If you have made a video of the soap making would you please include a link and I look forward to a future video of the beard balm. God bless you and everyone at the abbey.
Will do Keith. The video link below is for a video I made last year showing all of the cottage industries here at the abbey, I hope you will check it out. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother.

This was neat to see. Hope you show us more like the beard balm, lip balm, soap other things they make with wax and honey from the amazing bees at the Abby.
Mr Ed! This was an #oddlysatisfying moment! The cutting of the soaps, wow!
Ah, the sound of slicing soap....so satisfying. And yet again, another avatar, what's this one? God's peace.

@@JeffHorchoff it has been too long 😊 missed the bees and your videos 🐝 🐝 Doing very well. Hope all is good with you and your family. God is Good.
Thanks for another video Jeff. Blessings brother!
Jeff this is an awesome video. Thanks for sharing!
LOVE you guys Brother Jeff ❤ ❗ God Bless You and your Team ❤❗ KEEP the video's coming, so educational ❤❗

Awesome video Mr. Ed, thank you for sharing with us.
You know I bought some soap to try. I love opportunities to support you and the Abbey.
Thank you for showing us how the monks use and make handmade goods. I found it really interesting and inspiring! I hope the monks consider showing us bread making, too!

Shea butter is a seed fat that comes from the shea tree. The shea tree is found in East and West tropical Africa. The shea butter comes from two oily kernels within the shea tree seed.
Thank you so much for sharing the facts about Shea butter, I for one did not know that. Also, thanks for watching as well, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. HELLO MISTER ED HERE!
I never get sick of that.
Wonderful video, thank you.
Hello 👋Smiling 😁 Mr. Ed
Awesome video Mr Ed, was great to see how the Lotion bar is made by Brother Philip with help from Novice Philip.
From the finest pages I follow thank you, Mr.
Oh man, I missed this when it came out! This looks so lovely and Brother Austin was so nice to show us the process, that I quickly went over to the Abbey online gift shop--and the hand lotion bars are sold out! Disappointed--but I consoled myself with two different bars of Abbey soap! I'm gonna smell so good for the next month or two, LOL. Thank you Mr. Ed, and thank you Brother Austin for showing us around!
The lotion bars were popular before this video, now they are super popular. Try back later, I have been assured they will have more soon. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
So fun to see the process. Loved seeing Balaam and the quick tour of the Abbey. Brings back lovely memories.
I love the hands on!
What a wonderful piece of ingeniousness, the soap cutter is. Thank you and Brother Austin for showing the process of making the lotion bars. I would love to order my son some beard balm.
I spoke with Brother Austin yesterday about the beard balm, but he said it is made only for the monks. He did however also say that if enough inquiries were made for it, it may also be made to sell in the gift shop. At least there is a bit of hope there. God's peace Karen.
Mr. Ed
I LOVE THAT CUTTING JIG,,,,,GREAT INFO,,,,,,cool Rockler apron,,i bought all my tools and a Jet lathe from them

Thank you Jeff!!
I made a soap order have to give it a try!!!
Awesome 👍👍👍Thanks for sharing
Lots to learn about all the monks do!
Dear Jeff - I appreciate it so much to see you working with the wax in the area of the monks. And, of course, the possibility to have a look for making soap. Nice to see your smile. I love it. Stay healthy.
In doing your part brother Jeff, does that make you a Monkite or a Monk-ee? Hehe. ..you never fail to entertain and your enthusiasm is infectious. Thanks for sharing.
I am curious, Jeff. Are you a member of the monetary? Or are you employed to maintain Abbey Honey?
It would be great if Monksoap made Honey Soap (it will have a little honey in it as well as the honey sent) and packaged it with the Honey Lotion bars as a set!
I received my order today of Monk soap and hand bar lotion! I love their products!
Very interesting to see the process of making hand lotion bars from beeswax that you wrangled & rendered. What a great team effort. God bless you and everyone at the Abbey.
Love soapmaking, lotion making videos! Nice advertisement for Bramble Berry too lol.
Looks very nice. Thanks for showing the process and the grounds. Very interesting. Will have to order some. God bless.
Your laugh is so infectious!!! I love watching your vids! I may just send you a check at the end of the month for a bottle of your Bee’s hunni! May the Lord alnighty bless you and your beautiful bees 🐝
