There are so many things wrong with the hiring and job-hunting process, I almost don’t know where to begin. I will only cover the major points, but there is so much to unpack here on session 29 of my FB LIVE series "Get Out Of the Rat Race RUT!"
The hiring process is horrible both internally (I say this as a former hiring manager) and externally for the job hunter.
I’m going to focus on the job hunter today, although some of my message would do well to fall on the ears of managers and HR.
What are the worst complaints that I hear?
1. Job listings are a shit show
2. People haven’t done interviews in years (or decades) - how do they even prepare these days?
3. Interview questions are outdated and in most cases meaningless. Sometimes ridiculous.
4. Multiple interviews, like sometimes 3, 4, 5 or more…what a racket. It takes FOREVER to get through all the phases
5. You never hear back one way or the other
