@feekygucker I understand all of that, but it's our impatience and the demands of the insatiable media st play here. Nick is pursuing an agenda. To imply impropriety. Starmer is holding him at bay by giving NOTHING away. We are conditioned by the media to probe for probing sake. To be impatient. It fuels anger and adrenaline thus sells advertising time. I'm willing to wait. Yes we could be lied to. But we can judge at that point. To prejudge now would reveal our bias or prejudice, not necessarily a truth. I know that I do not know. But time will tell. For me the Conservatives such as Rees-Mogg and Gove come out of this far worse as they told us that Sue Gray had the highest integrity, right up until the very microbsecond that she delivered a report that they did not like. Frankly, a report that was utterly damning to them. So does this procedural thing matter compared to all that has gone before? Not to me. Does having someone as high calibre as Sue Gray overseeing the doings of the Labour Party matter. To me it's a creditable appointment. It suggests integrity of intent. Did Nick recognise that at any point? To me that matters more.

The main point some Tories are pushing is groundless and smacks of desperation, given Johnson has taken to question the Sue Gray report and any findings of the Privileges Committee his own government set up, remember it was Mr Johnson himself who selected her to head the inquiry, praising her as a woman of unimpeachable character, a view shared by R.Mogg and numerous other Tory Ministers, she was chosen, after Simon Case, ( His favoured pick) a Tory cabinet secretary, had to recuse himself after it emerged that he himself had attended at least one of the gatherings under suspicion, ( nice try Boris ) The Privileges Committee has seven members (including the chair). Conservative MPs are in a majority on the committee, with four MPs, two Labour MPs (one of whom currently chairs ) and one SNP MP all vetted and agreed on to do their duty in a honest and transparent way by current serving government officials. The P.C have reiterated no one will not be using or reviewing either the Met or the Sue Gray Report to arrive at their findings and state their assessment and decisions will be based solely on the statements of 23 eyewitnesses who attended the gatherings, the No 10 official photographer, 100's of text, WhatsApp messages, £00 plus photographs and evidence supplied by HMS Government itself.
