    I watched this while sitting in a waiting room at a dentist's office, and was whisked away. It was amazing how you were able to still capture the serenity despite the chaos. Thank you for posting this. Absolutely beautiful.

    I agree with you. I'm Japanese living in Ibaraki prefecture. It's very crowed every year. But blooming time of the Fuji usually is the same with the Golden week. And since the best blooming time is limited like a cherry blossom, so every time is crowed, even if the blooming is shifted. If you have a car or rent a car, go to the park before it open. And line up in front of the gate until open. Early morning, less people, you can relax more and refresh your mind more. And leave before noon. I always do that.

    @cakeswithfaces 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I went to the cherry blossom viewing at the mint in Osaka, which is only open 1 week per year, and it was soooo busy as well. Rather than a peaceful time enjoying the flowers, the most memorable part for me was the festival itself and the frenzy of the busy atmosphere with everyone excited and taking pictures. So it was an amazing experience - just not quite the one I expected! But I was really lucky to be there just at the right time when it was open to the public.

    And you have once again given us such a nice video! It may have been busy but it looked stunning! I will be studying abroad in Japan next summer and hope to visit some of these festivals while there, especially the flower festivals now. Keep up the good work!

    I was there in December 2013, since it was winter there wernt any blossoms but they’d rigged it all with illuminations. That massive wisteria was dripping with lights glowing in and out. Just amazing to look at.

    In 2018 I visited Tokyo itself during golden week. I went again this year outside of golden week and didn't really notice a big difference in the city between the two. On the other hand, I also did Fukuoka last year and this year and I hit Fukuoka/Kyushu during golden week this year. And yes, all of a sudden I realized why it's a bad idea to travel as a tourist during that week :D. Even had to change a few plans due to how busy it was. Never really was a fan of crowds.

    My first time visiting Japan was over Golden Week just last year. Yup it was busy, but compared to where I live here in Canada, I suspect any time in Japan will be relatively more busy than what I’m accustomed to. I will soon find out as I’m coming back for my second visit in October. So excited!
    I really like your videos; watched about 5 in a row now. Keep the great content coming and you have a great cinematic style.

    The super well presented boxes of food are common in Japan as it is culture that when you go travelling, you buy souvenirs (typically food) to gift your friends/co-workers when you come back.
    “Omiyage” is the Japanese word if you are curious. Hence why they are practically gift wrapped already

    Normally it's very busy with just the tourists, but since everyone's on holiday during golden week, it's the tourists AND the locals visiting the places. Don't go to Japan for a holiday during this time, especially if you're claustrophobic.

      Furthermore, Hannah ought to go and take good care of her biological father. He is ailing and needs her help. She should buy him a car, a house, and give him plenty to spending money. That way, he can have a guaranteed survival plan. For sure, the Winner will appreciate her for this act. For sure, all people in Japan will understand this act, and agree with the idea of a daughter helping her father and buying her father stuff.

    • @alwayslearningtech
      @alwayslearningtech 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eric Leo, it sounds like you don't know Hannah or her father. I'd imagine that he doesn't appreciate random men on the internet telling his daughter how to live her life. In fact, I'd imagine nobody does. Even if it is part of your culture, the younger generation might not see it as you do. I'd imagine her father is brought great joy from seeing his daughter travel the world and enjoying life in a way the older generation like yourself never had the chance to. I'd imagine he's proud of his daughter and watching videos like this makes him smile. I might be wrong, I doubt it though.

      Hello Matthew. Sorry, I thought you were somebody else earlier. I guess it was a mistaken identity.
      I meant to post that post about Hannah's father as a regular comment, not as a reply to your comment. Haha. It was a mistake. However, I did post it as a regular comment right afterwards.

Luckily, half of our trip was after golden week and we manage to go to this park after that, which so much less crowd. :)

    Golden Week is a great time to go to Japan. It's just bad for certain things, so you wouldn't want it to line up completely with your travel dates (that'd be a sad, short little trip anyway). There are pitfalls, but I still think it's an interesting time to be there.
    Lots of stores and restaurants have sales and specials (small ones often take a day or two off AFTER Golden Week). There are lots of street performers, and lots of fun events and public events are meant to line up with the holidays. It's a lively and fun time to do certain things- most of the other cities are extra lively but still LESS crowded than typical Tokyo, so Hiroshima (Flower Festival) and Fukuoka (Dontaku) are fun for their festivals in their own right, but the cities just look lively rather than packed. Obviously don't do anything with a choke point, especially if it's just a series of choke points (eg, Disney).
    And- people are on their holiday! So they're just in a good mood in general, especially if you're at a place that isn't super packed, etc.

      I don’t believe its actually a strict rule in Japan. Unlike Taiwan where you can get fined just for drinking water in the station it seems. In Japan some trains, especially Shinkansen, have staff that go through with snack carts that you can (obviously) buy food from. They typically have vending machines on those trains too.
      For local trains, its not prohibited but frowned upon. Basically like talking on your phone. It disturbs others (sound/smell)
