    What lovely background music today for our look around Leominster. It made it doubly enjoyable. I think I've seriously underrated Leominster in the past. It has a wonderful vriety of lovely architecture. I shall sing its praises in future. Thank you for giving us such a great armchair tour! 👍

    This was a beautiful place the Church was so quiet and the history amazing! I love seeing old buildings and how they restore them. The architecture was stunning the builders had to be very pleased with their attention to detail. How awesome it is to realize the building is 1000 years old. Wonderful video thanks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜

    Since I live in New England we have so many places with the same names as in the UK. Guess the Puritains and immigrants weren't very original. Lol. Beautiful town, architecture and market. Very reasonable prices in the market too. Thanks so much Phil and Caroline ❤

      We've noticed that there are a lot of places over there named after places over here Annette, perhaps they were a bit homesick. Thanks for watching 🤠😎🐼

    I want a welsh cake now! LOL I was eating dinner when I watched this and now i need some dessert! MMM! I enjoyed seeing the church. The carvings are lovely and all the different lions you showed us were pretty cool. The parade puppet lion was very neat. It would be fun to see that turned alive in a show!

    Its lovely to see fruit and vegetables being sold in a proper market, and an authentic butchers,like britain before corporate supermarkets.
    Those buidings are lovely, bow fronted windows, and timbered gables.
    If I can make a suggestion, if you like original buildings, I can recommend Norwich.
    It maybe a bit further than you normally would venture, but its well worth it, Norwich is a much overlooked place.👍

    If you ever find yourself in Somerset the village of Mark has amazing lions outside it's church. In the light of the setting sun they look almost like they are real lions somehow magically made still but could move at any minute.

    • @LetsgowithTheJohnsons

    Where is the famous ducking stool that used to be in the Priory?

  • @cdmikie
    @cdmikie ปีที่แล้ว

    There had to have been a lot of work moving that builing to various places. You would think it would be easier to start from scratch. Is it that they wanted that exact building or were the previous places being used where the building was no longer wanted?

    • @LetsgowithTheJohnsons
      @LetsgowithTheJohnsons  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question... I think in many cases it was a cost issue, as the labour to dismantle and rebuild 300 years ago was very cheap, whereas the craftsmanship & materials to create the frame would have been much higher. And in the case of this house, there may well have been the need to relocate during the development of the town, and the carvings and association with the kings carpenter, made it impossible to replace. 🤠😎🐼
