Ha, ha! I suppose it does. ATI X600, and I couldn't tell you how much it was because it was a Christmas gift, but I'd image the price was pretty hefty since it was the only gift my parents got me that year. After 2 years, the bearings on the fan gave out. Now it is in an antistatic bag in its original box on a shelf. I've rolled with ATI/AMD ever since.

For starters, episodes after this one took place in SOUTHERN California, culturally distant from Silicon Valley, never mind geographically. Others can tell you more about the changes in content that followed.

When G4 moved their show to San Francisco, Patrick Norton opted to leave and stay with his family. The show's format really began it's hard shift from computers, technology, and tech support for callers to more general nerd/pop culture, gaming, and conversation. While Sarah Lane and Kevin Rose (I mention them because they were the most prominent talents on the show left from TechTV even though they were incredibly late in its run) still maintained some sort of link to the original TSS, it really solidified the direction G4 wanted to go.
Most of the hosts/cast (including Yoshi, Dan, the "Lab Rats" and interns) and crew were let go over the next few months. Basically, G4 purged the vast-majority of TechTV related programs and employees; not just Screen Savers related. The entire channel was gutted by G4/Comcast. Kevin Rose, Sarah Lane, Brendon Moran and Chi-Lan Lieu were the only TechTV talent left on camera for this show, while Adam Sessler (who'd been an original ZDTV/TechTV personality on GamespotTV since the channel's beginning in '98) and Morgan Webb (who initially started on TSS in '01 and joined Adam in '03 when Extended Play became X-Play) kept their show because it was popular and gaming related.
Alex Albrecht debuted in San Francisco to co-host with Kevin Rose, only to get canned as well two months later during the purge. Kevin Pereira (from G4) would take over for Alex in November and be one of the final hosts of the show before it's complete revamping as Attack of the Show.
The Screen Savers ended in March of '05 and if you want a good idea of how the show evolved over the years, I suggest you dig up an original Screen Savers episode with Kate Botello and Leo Laporte; a 2000s episode with Leo and Patrick Norton; a 2004 episode shortly after Leo left and Kevin Rose became a host; an episode with Alex Albrecht; the last episode with Kevin Pereira and a real early episode of Attack of the Show.

Begs the question(s). What card did you get, and how much was it in 2004, what happened to it, and what is your rig like now. :p
