Neat to see this scenario unfold with a different set of rules--we've played this action in our club before and it very bloody. Lots of open ground to cover! Thanks for making this video AAR!

Great job. Well done. So happy I stumbled over your channel today. I know you and your wargaming efforts on the internet for many years now and are always exited about your high quality material you share. Wishing you the best in your future endeavours. Looks like the rules work really well. Going to take a look into them. This was my highlight of the last three days. You actually lifted my spirits since my wife and myself went down 3 days ago with Covid. I'm having a hard time, struggling. Missus had 2 tough days but is picking up. Lucky with her anyway, fully supportive of my wargaming (tabletop & boardgaming).

Good rule set ,and shows that having the house as cover you still get suppression to stop being fired on as your advancing towards the enemy great game to watch and good explanation of everything keep up the good work

Easy way to put a second floor in is a card cut to the interior of the building with legs on each corner to suspend the floor above the ground floor. Also, just stick a little something on the top side of the upper floor to make it easy to lift out if you need to. I find trimmed down sprue from plastic kits work nicely for the legs because they usually have a broader bit at one end to make gluing them to the upper floor more stable.

Been waiting for this. Great job, now I just need to get on and actually use the rules. Great looking figures and terrain, as usual.

@@DougiesWargamingBlogShow that was a great first AAR, a good illustration of the rules mechanics. Much easier to learn new rules when someone shows you how they work.

Really enjoyed this..Any consideration for Sangin ? It would be the only play through of its kind out there and certainly would be awesome.

Hi Walter, thanks for your comment, I agree playing this scenario with Sangin would be good. Another for the “To Do” list 😉

I was interested initially in this because of the subject, but having watched the first 15 minutes of the game I note it demonstrates the difference between the real action and your game. From the battle report I read about Top Malo House, the RM were fully in position for the action before they started firing. Further, they were on an elevated position over the house and their shooting was not suppressive but designed to inflict casualties. What did impress the RM was the fact that the Argentine Marines came out of the house in full kit firing. But the RM had it all in their favour and the fire fight was brief. In your game I would have let the RM deploy and only have allowed the Argentines to respond once the firing started. Or simply started the game from the positions of the assault. The latter being less attractive because it does not allow the RM commander to make his own decisions on the deployment. I will admit I no nothing of the rules though.

Hi Stephen, the game started with the cadre deployed which gave them an advantage, as well as being on a raised area of my boards although you can’t really see this on the video. The system allows the player to use standard suppressive or concentrated fire. Alex picked suppressive fire. The other decisions were his using the system.

Are the assault rifles automatics? I wonder because the SLR had a high rate of fire, in an ambush training exercise I went through two magazines in a minute. Basically 40 rounds expended on a Land Rover we hit. Australian army was like the British army, their SLR's were semi automatics not full.

You have a choice with the rules, rifles can be bolt action, battle rifles like an L1A1 or assault rifles. You can choose which you think best suits the weapon deployed.
