IU sold out that stadium for two nights within moments of the tickets going on sale. I believe her concerts went on for five hours, with a couple of those hours being the encore dressed in street clothes.

The very first song she wrote on her own and was for the OST of the Drama The Greatest Love, Hold My Hand is performed at this same concert as the Blueming video. She is in the same outfit so they were performed back to back. IU has a lot of costume and hair style changes during her concerts.
Speaking of that, since you are about to watch Hotel Del Luna, in this 16 episode drama IU has 80 costume changes, never wearing the same outfit twice and her hair style is different every time as well. Her costume budget was reportedly $10,000 per episode. This has become a thing for her, as she looks gorgeous in everything things she wears and rocks every hairstyle, although I do have my favorites.
I heard her outfits in hotel deluna was around 100. Correct me if I was wrong!
@@julianyein331 I haven't counted them myself. I was watching the last couple of episodes of the Viki app where you can turn on comments that people are making while they watch. There was a person on there that was counting or said they were and was updating the count. That person ended up counting 80. But I don't know for sure. I did read an article in an online entertainment site that stated her budget was $10,000 per episode.
Maybe I will have my 10 year old granddaughter help me count. 😊
I love watching your reactions to IU. It reminds me of the first time I heard her sing, but you need to check out Hyori Homestay, that is where I first got exposure to her, watching that reality show at first I didn't know she was a big star she was so humble and sweet. I search and found out how big a star she is in Korea, I am a fan, and love her pure heart.
I had the same experience, lol....she is on my all time top five list- Frank Sinatra, Eva Cassady, Elvis and Michael Jackson...great singers, performers and artists.
I decided to go for a once-in-a-lifetime concert, thinking it'll be first and last. But, Love Poem concert totally changed my mind! Now I wished I went for more of her LP concerts (no idea covid would happen...)! She is indeed an amazing performer and a human being. Hope you'll get to see her live some day!

Part of what makes her confident in such environments is that she may love her fans more than any other idol. Like, she truly loves UAENA and goes above and beyond in her care and treatment of them. In addition, by the time of this concert, she had been in the industry for over a decade. So it's a combination of immense experience due to her longevity with her equally long history of adoring her fans, the latter stemming from the fact that her debut was particularly difficult and it was the actions of a small number of early fans that helped her move beyond it.

I think its more abt her genuine personality, and the fact that its her concert. To get the ticket for that Love Poem Seoul concert for example (14.000 seat x 2 days), you still need to battle it out with thousands people . So yeah, ppl who there is really love her T_T its simply bcs she's comfortable being around her fans....

I have the same exact thoughts like yours. IU really born to be a performer. Watching her lives, I always have this feeling where IU feed all the energy she got from the audiences and in turn, she gave it back to them with much much more energy. Thus when Covid-19 happens, I kinda felt sad she cant perform directly for her listeners

As you noted, her performing artist side is just who she is, not a pumped-up, put-upon persona established artificially for occasions. I also believe that this is what fueled her longevity in the hyper-competitive Kpop industry, or entertainment sector in general. She doesn't need to pretend to be someone else, while she is among Uaenas to whom she doesn't need to worry about flaws. Being herself is more important than being perfect.
