I always loved Pablo's rich lyricism in the song he composes. Kumunoy directly means quicksand, and not swamp. But to me perhaps the song translation in this case just implies how one gets 'swamped' with many problems and challenges thus feeling like sinking in a quicksand. Pablo's songs always have substance and he ably adds a dose of hope when the song feels too melancholy, showing his faith as his steadfast guide.
