Cheers! I'm never usually that lucky! And, yeah, Nack5 is brilliant. One of my favourites in Japan

Congrats on winning those tickets! It's sad that Tokyo Verdy moved to a neighbouring prefecture to escape rival teams but wound up against an even bigger rival in FC Tokyo...I'd be curious to know the fans reactions when the team did that.

Thanks! Yes, the move didn't really work out for Verdy. It's a shame they weren't able to join the J.League initially as a Tokyo team. I think that would have put them on much better footing

At that time, I lived in Kawasaki City. Verdi often made statements overlooking the hometown of his parent company and club owners. As the construction of Ajinomoto Stadium became a reality, some players made similar statements in post-match interviews. Not surprisingly, the public was angry with Verdi's words and deeds. And most of the opinion was that if he made his hometown so stupid, get out early.
Verdy's parent company is the media that holds newspapers and television, and is also the parent company of the baseball team Tokyo Giants. They reported for decades as if they weren't sports except the Giants, who were the main players in television and newspapers. It was very disliked by fans of other teams and other sports.
When the new professional sport was born in Japan, it was clear that he was actively embracing the old media methods of creating another Tokyo giants. Due to such opposition, Verdy was already the subject of insults not only in Kawasaki but also in other parts of Japan.
I'm not good at writing English, so I'm sorry for the poor explanation.

@@dauny08 Thank you for sharing your perspective, it's very interesting to know how they acted before the move and the fans reaction with the comments they made. I had no idea there was a relationship between the Tokyo Giants and Verdy's parent club!

Very sad seeing Omiya playing some pretty weak soccer right now. Hopefully it does turn around at some point. Regardless, I will still follow them considering they were the first J League team I ever liked. By this point I would think Verdy are simply tired of being in FC Tokyo shadow. Great vid as usual👍

Yeah, I really hope they can turn it around. But whatever happens this season, they need to change something. The squad is just getting weaker and weaker season after season. It's really sad to see. And, yeah, Verdy really need to get away from Ajinomoto Stadium and FC Tokyo. I'd love to see them get a purpose-built football stadium somewhere in Tokyo.

Is there a club from wakkanai?

There doesn't seem to be a Wakkanai team in the Hokkaido leagues, but there may be one at a very local level
