Kapiel, I think you should get into deities and read about it and give that knowledge to us. And it is 108 times not 1000/10000 the mantra chanting. These things work and have positive effect on us, we just can't see it through our eyes. Rituals and karmakaand are not bs .there is always some scientific base to every ritual like pouring oil on shani or pouring milk on shivling(which u recommend).

Hello Kapiel, can Rahu or Ketu also become Ishta Devata? I have Vargotamma Cancer ascendant and Saturn is AK and also Vargotamma sitting in 9th house Pisces. Moon and Rahu are 12th from AK in Navamsa, so sitting in 8th house Aquarius. Aquarius is considered the own sign of Rahu, so Rahu will be stronger than Moon, I think. Is Rahu then my Ishta Devata, or doesn't Rahu count and Moon becomes my Ishta Devata (by the way, my Moon is also Amatyakaraka and squeezed between Saturn and Rahu in the 9th house of my birthchart). Oh god. Saturn is my atmakaraka (29.56) with aspect from 10th house ketu and aspect from Jupiter while in Venus dasha or Jupiter and mars if you consider Saturn in 7th house. In d9 Saturn is in 11th house conjunct rahu and opposite debilitated mercury. Planet 12th from Saturn is mars in leo with sun in Aries 6th house. What does this mean? Lol
I like the concept of the Ishta Devata, but it seems way too arbitrary to go through an astrological chart for this. I feel very close to Maruga (some people call him Skanda) and I have adopted Maruga (one of the two sons of Shiva) as my Ishta Devata. No, I don't do 10,000 mantras/day. I do a simple 5 element Puja to Maruga - takes 2-3 minutes every day. There are many paths to Rome, so if you feel very close to a particular God/Goddess/Archetype, use that energy as your path. Don't let your 'chart' over-rule your intuition with selection of a God or Archetype - unless this is your preferred path.

Repeating mantras a certain number of times is not the only way to use a mantra. If you know how to transcend with a mantra you go to Source, which is what you are speaking of. The number of times that process is repeated in transcending with the mantra gives the secondary benefits associated with that mantra. That process will yield much more results than pouring milk over a Lingam. The reason is because transcending with a mantra takes your Consciousness to do so. Pouring over a Lingam is still a worldly action, you are not actively using your Consciousness to do so, you are hoping the process does through your physical action...and that may take you to source or not, certainly not consistently - But again knowing how to transcend with a mantra is guaranteed, since the only way to transcend IS to use your Consciousness. You just need to know how. Unfortunately for you, that knowledge has not come across your doorstop.
No. You have to disregard Rahu and Ketu (and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) when calculating the Jaiminiya karakas, as Rahu and Ketu are not true grahas but chhaya grahas (shadow planets).

I am a little confused about ten highest degrees..I am a Leo ascendent with Mars as 29.42 deg in libra..and moon in 9H Aries with 11.15 deg..moon is the last planet of my horoscope..there are no planets in 10H,11H or 12H.. And so my question is which one should I consider? moon or mars to calculate my Ishtar deva in navmansha?

Also on a slightly related topic, I have Saturn in the 3rd House and Mars in the 5th house in key main birth chart, also sitting in each other's Nakshatras.

What if one's Maraka planet becomes its Ishta Devta?
e.g. for Mesh Lagna - Venus becomes strong Maraka, and if Venus is placed in 12th house from atmakaraka in D9 of Gemini.
What will be the result? Does Venus works as Maraka or it will work as a Ishta Devta? Plz discuss this point.
Ishta means soul? Istha means in Sanskrit - Beloved, Cherished. Deva = God. Beloved God. I find it weird that he talks about God now when he denied the Divine repeatedly in the past.

In D9 I am lib asc with Venus and mars conj in the 11th house and they are getting aspect from sat in the 2nd house and the lord of 11th sun in the 5th house.

For example: suppose your atmakaraka is Jupiter then it's counsellor,guru, advisor which is lord Vishnu.. you can fast on Thursday if you want to
And then you can all so check 11th house planet or 11th house lord sitting on birth chart which is 11th lord of gains ,desires

In d9 Saturn is in 11th house conjunct rahu and opposite debilitated mercury. Planet 12th from Saturn is mars in leo with sun in Aries 6th house.

Rahu can only be considered as AK only when it has lowest degree. Still there's debate going on if Rahu can grant moksha or not.

I like the concept of the Ishta Devata, but it seems way too arbitrary to go through an astrological chart for this. I feel very close to Maruga (some people call him Skanda) and I have adopted Maruga (one of the two sons of Shiva) as my Ishta Devata. No, I don't do 10,000 mantras/day. I do a simple 5 element Puja to Maruga - takes 2-3 minutes every day. There are many paths to Rome, so if you feel very close to a particular God/Goddess/Archetype, use that energy as your path. Don't let your 'chart' over-rule your intuition with selection of a God or Archetype - unless this is your preferred path.

The twelfth place in this case is the house immediately preceding (clockwise) the one in which the atmakaraka is sitting. For example, if the planet is in Scorpio, the 12th place is Libra.

Repeating mantras a certain number of times is not the only way to use a mantra. If you know how to transcend with a mantra you go to Source, which is what you are speaking of. The number of times that process is repeated in transcending with the mantra gives the secondary benefits associated with that mantra. That process will yield much more results than pouring milk over a Lingam. The reason is because transcending with a mantra takes your Consciousness to do so. Pouring over a Lingam is still a worldly action, you are not actively using your Consciousness to do so, you are hoping the process does through your physical action...and that may take you to source or not, certainly not consistently - But again knowing how to transcend with a mantra is guaranteed, since the only way to transcend IS to use your Consciousness. You just need to know how. Unfortunately for you, that knowledge has not come across your doorstop.

No. You have to disregard Rahu and Ketu (and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) when calculating the Jaiminiya karakas, as Rahu and Ketu are not true grahas but chhaya grahas (shadow planets).
