Reminds me of my first cat, which we got when I was a baby. She was a stray cat and every time I was in the garden she would drop by, licking me and at some point “protecting” me from visitors (my uncle). My mum ended up adopting her and she become part of our family for over ten years.

It's interesting when you find out information that you probably wouldn't have found out--or in this case: thought about--from just quickly looking at the video yourself. Strange little sound the cat does on the video you refered to. It's so unnatural for a cat that I'm wondering if it's the person filming that makes the sound. Then again, I don't really know how cats sound like when they're young so... there's that.
@@123argonaut probably not! My cat was around six years old in 2013 and is still kickin' today at 14 years of age. If it's an outdoor cat, then yeah you're probably right. Cats just can't live that long when they go outside regularly.
I think it's the fact that you said this cat is likely dead is where you lost out on likes I'm guessing. Not sure why you think it's likely dead though, indoor cats can live for a long while (assuming it's an indoor cat). Unless something happened like escaping and getting run over, I don't think it's likely

I remember my dog always sleeping in my room when I was a kid, always protecting me. First he protected my older brother, when I was born he knew I was the most vulnerable. Literally best dog in the world.
The memories this stirs are intense. When we were preparing for the arrival of our now 37-year-old son, we were subjected to the tales of the danger cats possessed to newborns. We went so far as to purchase a crib-sized and fitted,mosquito net to keep the cat out of the crib. When we brought our son in the house from the hospital, we had secured the cat in the bathroom to control the introductions. We laid a blanket on the floor, put the,child on the blanket, and released the cat, who upon spying his new human sibling, approached, cautiously. He Madd two or three orbits of the swaddled bundle, stopping periodically for closer approaches and sniffs. He then moved off a foot or two, assumed the familiar feline seated as royalty pose, and basically said, "All right. I have examined this creature. I am done with him. You may now return him to his proper location." Thirteen months later, when our daughter arrived, the reaction was somewhat more traumatic: ""OH MY GOD!! ANOTHER PINK ONE? YOU MUST BE KIDDING!! The cat did recover to the point that one of our favorite photos of the Era was the three of them napping on the sofa, with a gray, fuzzy backside being flanked by two diapered backsides. Almost three years later, our youngest son arrived, and the cat just sort of gave up. It was ten more years until it was time for the cat, whom we simply referred to as our oldest son, made the journey across the Rainbow Bridge.
