I love so much "S.O.S."
it was recording in August 1974, four mounths later ABBA win the Eurovision Song Contest in April 1974 with their fantastic "Waterloo"
but ABBA didn't realize it as a single until August 1975 (a year later)
"S.O.S." is just exactly in the middle between "Waterloo" (their first worldwide succes when ABBA win the famous Eurovision Song Contest) and "Dancing Queen" (their most worldwide hit and best sailing song)
and the same the blonde Agnetha Fältskog, who was the leads vocal here with her soprano voices, recording a beautiful cover from S.O.S. (in swedish) for her solo album a few mounts later in 1975 too
also the brunette Anni Frid (also called Frida) was mezzo soprano voice, you can hear She leads in #1 hits like

I suggest to the next video back to 1974, when begin the international famous to ABBA, when They win in the mytic England the most historic edition of Eurovision with their iconic piece of glam rock "Waterloo"

"S.O.S." has a story
It was one of his first recordings after the success of Waterloo, just four months later.
But it waited a year for its release
"Waterloo" needed another theme to confirm the trend and it was not an isolated success or a stroke of luck
ABBA's next three elections failed to stand out
Until finally "S.O.S." have your chance to be a single, and broke the drought, reaching #6 in the U.K. and #15 in the U.S. being their second hit in both countries at the same time
and six #1 and more Top 10 in several countries of all continents
"S.O.S." in less than 200 seconds is a gem, a masterpiece!
The transitions from the dramatic opening (a dingy piano and a cracking Agnetha voice) to a powerful rock beat and catchy chorus are brilliant
The video is from a presentation in Norway, when ABBA was looking for that second success
The girls' costumes are the iconic blue and gold cat dresses (the colors of Sweden)
ABBA marked an era in many ways One was the musical leadership of its beautiful and lofty female vocalists as the center of attention
Another was the use of contrasts, such as sad lyrics with catchy melodies and harmonies
And their recording tecnique "wall of sound" gives ABBA more powerfull
ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, left an unforgettable mark on several generations
It is good music that lasts and stays alive and well

"Fernando" was my late mother's favorite ABBA song. I remember that we had two albums of theirs on 8-track tape -- "Arrival" and "Greatest Hits" -- that she would play in the car on long trips. "Money, Money, Money" was my favorite, but "Dancing Queen" takes me back to 1976. I wasn't yet ten years old.
I love this song particularly since it takes me back to happier days when ABBA was my lovely mother’s favorite band in the 70’s. Her favorite was ‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ but this too was a great song from this remarkable group. I recommend more ABBA songs on your channel.

I was 9 or 10 years old listening in the 70s. You couldn’t get by not listening to ABBA on the radio each summer. Flashforward to the 90s, I was in my 30s and my girlfriend from Sweden was 23 and new ABBA well. The band is a part of her culture and history. Everyone knew their songs. This was at a time Ace of Base was the new hit band in the US from Sweden.
One of my favourite songs by ABBA.There is a fantastic video called "(ABBA) Bjorn Again-1998 Full Concert", where Bjorn Again perform a concert of ABBA songs, and are very much the same as the real ABBA

I was, "THAT GUY", who would put Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Mountain, The Who, Steppenwolf or Black Sabbath onto my turntable and "rock out" with all of those bands.
Then I could easily put John Denver, The Bee Gees, Lobo, Seals & Crofts, The Carpenters or ABBA on that same turntable and jam out with them also.
