So you know, the large internal pocket in the center is for a full size PLTOR radio and other green gear, and the two small vertical pouches on either side are for 3L hydration bladders. The grommets can accommodate tubes and wires

Thanks for the great review! I've seen a few from Pintler and many leave out mentioning about the biggest selling point in my opinion, the overload shelf. You sold the product to me. :) Shame I couldn't grab the coyote in Finland but the green looks alright too.

FINALLY, a Pintler Review! Great to finally see the inside of this pack. Great to know about that Rust-O-Leum weatherproof product. Thanks for the review.

If I may ask, how long did it take for MR to send you one? I've been waiting for nearly 2 months now for delivery. Thanks

not sure if you're a member of Rokslide Forum, but, would you mind if I share this video with them?

My situation makes that a tricky question to answer... I was able to get a discount by ordering it through my work. As a company, we placed an order in the middle of December and were told they should arrive in March. I didn't actually get mine until early May.

I've been to Rokslide many times, but I don't honestly remember if I am a member. But by all means, go ahead and share it. Hopefully it can help some people out.
      Thanks!

Enjoyed your review. I'm afraid you will regret getting the Large. Belt will stretch a little & mold to the shape of your waist as it breaks in. Add heavy weight and I'm afraid you won't be able to tighten belt up enough to counter these variables,
As to the open internal pocket? That is for securing longer pieces of gear, such as tripods or spotting scope. Put Tripod through one & Spotting Scope it and it won't move around smashing into each other. Thanks for review

Great review man! I picked up the Marshall last year and love it but am just waiting for MR to sell the Pintler bag separately then I'm going to get that as my day pack. Good luck this coming season!

Thanks man! How much weight have you had in your Marshall? I hiked a bit with 50 pounds in my Pintler last weekend and was shocked at how well it did.

    • @brendanyyc
      @brendanyyc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Doing Stuff, I've carried only about 50lbs as well but it's amazing how well it feels. I shopped around, but my theory is if the pack weighs an extra pound or two compared to the competitors, and that extra weight goes towards comfort and durability, you'll be able to carry more in the long run. You'll have to do another review once you've used it some more! Cheers

I am keen to watch your informative practical review after you put the pack in action. I am pretty sure the pack will hold up well

Did the medium pack fly end up working for you?
It says the small is the proper size for pintler on their website but i wonder if that is big enough for a fully loaded pack.
I just picked up a Pintler trying to figure out which fly.

How do you like the Pintler backpack after a few years of use? What type of hunting do you mostly use it for? Thanks for the video!

Hey mate great review, got my hands on the Pintler Coyote from a hunting shop in the State as well, it was so difficult to source one as MR doesn't sell it directly on their website and not many shops actual carry the hunting line backpack. Anyway well done on your video, would you like to give me the name of the water resistant spray that you mentioned in your video so I am looking at get one to spay on my Pintler as well. Thanks again and Good Day

Thank you for this very good presentation.
This bag really looks exellent, however it looks pretty big on your back and I would have liked to know if possible how much you measure. This will give me a perspective as I am not very tall, I measure 5.70 feet and would not buy a bag too high. Thank you for your help.

I'm 5'7" and I'm having issues with my Medium pack. It works fine under 20lbs, but, once I use the Overload and add 6 lbs, it slips off. My theory is the sweat from my nylon shirt. Once I probably layer it may stay more. And yes, I had to stuff the Yoke all the way down to get a comfortable shoulder fit. I was hoping to exchange with someone with a Small frame/Yoke/Waist. MR recommended a XS...which sounded extreme. I keep an eye on eBay for possible purchase. My 3DAP, Rush, and 1DAP are Medium without any issues.

Nice review man! I like the pintler too its an awesome all arounder! You can do a nice bow carry with the pintler! The torso adjustment is called the Futura harness and it is awesome as i'm sure you know by now! Best torso adjustment i've ever come across. Easy to use and still comfortable, nothing poking you in the back and acts as a internal frame sheet. I'm running the Camelbak tri-zip pack right now which was a mystery ranch collaboration. Awesome little pack! It has the same futura but it doesn't have a nice frame. I'm not really big on the nice frames myself but they do serve their purpose. I prefer just an internal frame sheet with maybe one or two aluminum stays tops. My tri-zip is 37 liters where your pintler is 41 liters and with the nice frame you can practically double that carry capacity to 80 liters or more i would think. Those two mesh zipper pockets inside the pintler pack that are floating you could put tent poles behind them if you want i have seen people do that. I actually sewed mine right to the bag. They ride better that way in my opinion. Mystery ranch tri-zip packs are top notch! They hug your body perfectly once you get the futura harness adjusted just right to your toso. The 3 main zippers are waterproof coated too where their not on my pack but i have a matching rain cover too (camelbak maximum gear line) I want to find a tri-zip in the 45-50 liter range like their Ravine 50 or terraframe 50 and maybe the coulee 40. Something thats lighter weight but can carry atleast 3 days worth of gear. Their 3 day assault packs are nice but they don't hold a whole lot unless you run a few external pouches. The komoto dragon tri-zip pack would work great with one or two pouches aswell. But their military line is very expensive. You get what you pay for though! Hope the pintler pack served/serves you well?! Stay safe! Hike on!

How's the pack holding up? Just picked mine up today, and some of the stitching looks very spotty, particularly anything on/touching the frame.
When you separate the bag to open up the meat shelf, it's very apparent. Do you have this same issue?

I used mine HARD last year. I helped to carry out 2 deer, an antelope and an elk over the course of the season. Other than a few blood stains it still seems like new. So I've had zero problems with mine - maybe yours is faulty and snuck through quality control?

I'm 6'0 170 and went with a small. It fit me better than the medium I first ordered. I used the MR sizing video as well to make my sizing decision. It's strange that the large fits you better but I needed the small.... My torso is 18"which is the max for small and min for medium sizes. I even have the should yoke stuffed way down in there where it should be for 16" guys.
    Weird

I carried this pack all of September and now well into October. I carried between 15-25 pounds in it daily, with a few heavier loads as well. On those daily trips it was so comfortable and well balanced that you could almost forget you had it on. I also carried a rear elk quarter out, and a rear and front mule deer quarter for friends on different occasions and it handled the weight with ease. I used to switch to my badlands ox for pack-outs, but this is so comfortable I won't bother doing that anymore.

You ever pack weight with that large belt, you will be sorely disappointed...you are way too small of a guy for a large belt...especially under a lot of weight
Even with clothes, you will need a medium or small, believe me...🙄
