- Michael Jackson's This Is It is a 2009 American documentary-concert film directed by Kenny Ortega that documents Michael Jackson's rehearsals and preparation for his concert series of the same name that was originally scheduled to start on July 13, 2009, but was cancelled due to his death eighteen days prior on June 25. The film consists of Jackson rehearsing musical numbers, directing his team, and additional behind-the-scenes footage including dancer auditions and costume design. Ortega confirmed that none of the footage was originally intended for release, but after Jackson's death it was agreed that the film be made. The footage was filmed in Los Angeles at the Staples Center and The Forum, and features a clip from East Rutherford's Arena where Jackson publicly announced the concert series.

The world wasn’t ready for this tour it would have been the greatest show on earth just wished he could have done just one show to so everyone he’s still the GOAT
It would've been the greatest show of all time.
it would’ve broken records and i know it would’ve
The greatest of all time 😢❤🙏🏽
LeftIslam4Good yes that must be why during earth song he had so many layers of clothes on and wasn’t dancing much.
@LeftIslam4Good If only the people looking out for him at the last shows, were people actually giving a damn. No question WR/SJ-allegations came from exactly this, right there, that.. Bastards
He is I believe 50 here, and although it’s rehearsals so more layed back, you can still see him move faster and smoother than people in their early youth and his vocals are still very strong. This man seemed immortal, can’t believe he actually isn’t with us anymore. We miss you Michael
that's right ! 👍👍👏
The Greatest Ever.
and he always save his energy for the actual performance ❤️
😥😥Miss him and love him forever

4:28 still powerful with that hoooooooooooo! Lol
come on, he's 50 there, not 90
@@carowkart9836 but you now*, he was very ill and literally lived on medicine
@@-denzicer-1735 Yes, but people don't talk about it when they say "wow he's 50 and can do all this". Some of us know that he was very ill there.
-DenZicer - .*know not *now
@Duxc She's not lying though... He was very ill, you can see by his weight, he was more thin than ever
He was fifty, had a terrible skin disease, was on a lot of medication, was much skinnier because of his poor health and the meds, had a severe foot infection which hurt him whenever he moved. And still he performs like this. He pushed himself for the perfection which makes for great art but it takes its toll on a person after a while. The only upside to his death is that he no longer has to live with that pain anymore, but he will be missed
❤🙏
And you gotta remember at this point he'd been living 10 years with irreversible damage to his spine. Not sure if that would have been a problem though because of all the stuff he was on
@@flamyyy8382💔💔💔💔 сколько боли он перенёс, и это не изменило его душу, он был таким же любящим, добрым, чутким, нежным как маленький ребёнок ... это меня поражает и разбивает мне сердце 😭
Magic of the drugs Michael was on. He was in terrible shape since 2005.
At this point we know almost everything about This Is It. Michael should take care of his health. Instead, he was forced to do these shows. It was predictable that something horrible would happen to him
@@Diza_X According to the official post-mortem protocol, he was healthy, except for: vitiligo, joint changes (like all dancers) and giant scars on his head (from 2-3 degree burns). They killed him, with propofol. Such a dose could have brought down an elephant too.
The way that he corrects/encourages his band, directly, but saying "It's all for love." is truly the mindset of greatness. Know what you want, speak what you want, but do it from a place of love.
For every dancer, artist please study 4:08 to 4:16. It takes 8 seconds to see perfection. And reherseal only. This man was unique and will remain unique. Nobody will come closer to him ever. Thanks.
even at 50, he danced like he was 20, a legend.
No, he looked 50 and moved like he was 50. Go watch him when he was 20 and see what 20 moves like.
Bro, but this is not live, his main power source is live audiences. And I have watched so many of his rehearsal videos from 20s 30s. Some are not even moving as this one. He looks good here. it will be great if at least one live show ever happened.
@@ronanryan5331You just wanted to hear yourself talk, huh? 🤡 No attention was given to
I'm a die hard fan. Stop chatting sh*t. By lying you are covering yp the fact that he had a serious addiction issue & that it was okay to do the tour rather than postpone it!
i was lucky enough to see him performing live back in 1996
How was it?!
I saw him live back in 88. Magical show from what I remember.
@Akshay Gowrishankar Nah. Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas.
@Akshay Gowrishankar Yep
@Akshay Gowrishankar The Bad Tour was his last tour where he performed in the United States.
5:08 This short clip of MJ in the grey jacket is for me one of the most enduring images from This Is It, he genuinely looked like he was back in his element and all his demons were pushed aside, at least momentarily.
That whole day seemed to be one of the best from these rehearsals, but that clip really shows Michael feeling that feeling that he seemed like he'd lost for a while. That comfort in music and performing once again. That clip to me doesn't show an aging performer having to refind his footing, it just shows just Michael Jackson, as he always was.
@@featheryfemme It was his music. And you could tell, at least in that moment, he was happy to be there and perform, even if it was just a rehearsal and he wasn't even giving his all thinking about saving it for the fans on the real stage.
I'm into metal, and one of my favorite bands is Dream Theater. They recently reunited with their original drummer and when they asked him to play a very complex song he hadn't played in over 10 years, he got behind the kit and nailed it, as if he had never left. He said "It is like riding a bicycle. You never forget it". And the way MJ was dancing and singing, he was definitely in his element and showing he never forgot his stuff
You know what it truly was he got sleep
1:55
I really love this move, i love how Michael was still trying to invent and come up with new moves for the concert
And you can really see him testing the new moves in the rehearsal
Good observation!
What move? He just pointed

MJ was old, sick, tired, exploited and still the best in the 🌎 world at his craft! A true vessel sent from the future to earth to give us health through music. We love you and miss you Michael!
MJ wasn’t old the doctor didn’t monitor his addiction and end up dying from an addiction of medicines which end up killing him. If MJ was dancing at fifty than sixty of age would’ve been energy to create his finances as a billionaire.
If MJ was sick the only thing that killed him was the media which you can’t trust as fans pretty much.
Ohhh shut up. He had life in him. He hasn’t that old. He was worked to death and had un ethical doctors feeding his deadly addiction. Everyone wanted money. So shut up
Your a absolute idiot that you have no clue how much medicine and bs was being pushed thru this body on the regular.

I went to the premiere! This was one of the worst years of my life but I saw it wasn't just me it was the world we all lost a great man and of course the GOAT
He was just getting a feel of it and he's there gliding across the stage
It’s like a mix between HIStory and dangerous tour in one WHOLE tour
I still remember seeing this in the theater. The rumble I felt when the bass dropped for WBSS was something Ive never felt before. Seeing him in his element one last time brought me to tears. It’s a feeling I still experience today whenever I see him point to the sky during the start of the film. Magic! ❤️
Can we all agree when he was 50 his voice got Deep but still in that soft voice
Kaide B not really his voice was always deep. but after the 90's he just stopped using his soft voice

He was singing WAAAY BETTER than in the HIStory tour. It’s incredible
He had laryngitis during that tour. He lip synced a lot of the songs.
Porque ele ficou muito tempo sem cantar e subir em palco
That's cus his voice had healed after history tour in which he had laryngitis and he was finally planning to perform live again in this is it.
I totally agree
Yes guys, I know the reason he wasn’t singing that well during the tour. I just wanted to point that out cause it’s an interesting fact, since he was not in a perfect condition in 2009 either…
