actually, I don't get it because those were something that john Bonham and some of those guys wore in the later 60s--I didn't see much in the early 80s that looked like the 60s 0r 70s except me and some of my friends.

I so miss the early great VAN HALEN. What an unbelievable show they put on & DIAMOND DAVE always put on a phenomenal performance. He was by far one of the very greatest frontmen in Rock history. He was awesome.

Man I still get blown away by Edward's playing and sounds of that amp. You can just tell by intricacies that amp was turned up and moving air the finger slide at 1:54....that's part of the excitement we experienced when those first VH records were released. His sound was just............HUGE

this song back in the 80s was probably the biggest and best song by Van Halen because they played it all the time on the radio and that's all you heard blaring from people's radios or stereos in their car. It's funny people who could listen to cassette back then would rewind over and over again and forget there were nine others that were just as good

That's because on these shows they would lip sync to their own music. The 70's and 80's had shows like Band Stand where they had to do this.

If you watch bands on TV programs like this doing 1-2 songs back in the 70-80s it was very common. Actually it was rare bands played live if they didn't play a show. And everyone was fine with it. It's just you who grew up with internet who are used to seeing live performances.

So yea I remember always knowing full well they were syncing but was just so glad I got to see the group more than just a little picture. Valerie Bertinelli said she first fell in love with Eddie just from his picture on the "Women and Children First" Album back cover.

Many singers get tired of singing the same song over and over, by the time a band is on a long tour, they have played the song already thousands of times.....singers either "improvise", don't care, or just want to do stage antics and not focus on the sound.....in the studio DLR wasnt getting all wild like the concerts
