  • The Aberdeenshire Dee is Mikael’s favourite Scottish river, The Dee Sheep has proven to be the best Dee springer fly in his box. It was born on the Dee but has taken fish on many rivers around the world. Mikael put the yellow under the black - made it swim with soft materials and suddenly the old Icelandic Black Sheep turned into an even better fly. A super standard fly for cloudy days.
Watch Mikael’s micro fly technique, the ideas behind and how to attach and fish the loose hanging micro fly. The film contains three of his best micro flies, flies that taken fish during different conditions in rivers around the world.

I use the stealth tread for all my fly tying, it's by far the best thread I've ever used, flexible, durable, and is never seen no matter what dubbing etc you use. Also makes a Nice looking head on nymphs and imitations

Ooophf..... lovely fly, no whip finish would have my knees knocking! Not disrespecting everything you’ve done and are doing for wild salmon....

Looking at it, good quality Arctic Fox.... it had a kink and was on a decent patch of skin ( so not runner)

Hi, you can fish any tippet on them. i normally don't use thinner than 0,33 mm since you need to paly fish hard to be able to release them in a good way!
