Wanted to ask is it fine to train in trainers and race in spikes
You could, but you would also need to be used to using your spikes like in the blocks or during speed workouts. Familiarity is crucial for performance.
Use spikes for high intense days and meets. Trainers for low intense and tempo workouts.
