Ive acutally got this in my Acustica Audio Taupe plugin....18 Core Live analog Sampling from that actual Unit....in a plugin...I use it alot of my mixes...one of my favorites along with the MCI 24 and the Studer
Hi Marcus. Nice video! REVOX A77 Studer and REVOX A77. Is there a difference between these two? I'm 23 so I'm curious but a little bit confused. Thanks so much!
They are the same company. Studer made the decks used in recording studios like Studer A-800 multitrack recorder. Revox was Studers home audio devision designed for more commercial use.
The Acustica Audio....Taupe Setting C 7 or C 8 either Double Mono or Stereo....it sounds at least 80% of that phyical Unit..........Its on Sale right now for $80....normally its $250 you get over 40 diffrent Live Sampled, Proffessional Decks and Reel to Reels in the Plugin...along with the TAUPE bundle a Hardware Channel Strip live analog emulation as well, with EQ and VCA compressor
The B77 is a great deck, but when both are firing on all cylinders they are about equal in sound quality. The B77 MK2 has a pitch control and some improvements but overall they are both great decks. The A77 is older so theoretically it might need to be re-caped sooner, but this one was.

Thanks for the overview. I just acquired a fully restored A77 1/4 track that looks basically similar to this one, and am diving in and this helps- my only real question was whether to record in IEC or NAB or how to set that, but I'll figure it out. Cheers!
@@marcusdolby1 Ahh I see now that its for playback standards on the A77, not a recording setting. I just got this thing, so I'm still figuring it out. This thing is far easier than it seemed at first glance. Thank you.

Супер машина. Ему б еще индикаторы стрелочные поменять , ато узкие какие-то
How would you say this compares with a B77, both in terms of functionality and sound?

Technically NAB for here in the states. But I prefer IEC especially with these Revox decks. Has a pleasing bump in the high end.
