There goes my favorite shining star Susan to join my other favorite star since childhood, FPJ, I used to see Susan in La Consolacion College where I studied in Manila, I jumped with joy whenever I saw her during homecoming, Beth Poe, FPJ’s sister, and joining college events with other FPJ’s sister Jenny…. I was very happy when Susan and Ronnie got married being their avid fan. Coming to US, I got acquainted with Ate Beth who gladly told me news and stories about my favorite couple. I felt like I lost a Kuya when FPJ passed away although he didn’t know me in person. Now, I feel like I lost another beloved person, Susan, a sister, with her passing away. This couple didn’t know me personally but I’ll treasure them in my heart. For me, long live Ronnie Poe the King and Jesusa Sonora Poe the Queen!!!

When I was growing I used to watch their movies in our black and white big rectangular television. I was born in 1974 and very fortunate to hear old stories of the Sampaguita artists through my parents. My Mom was a radio voice artist with Luz Valdez.
