Maybe worth noting that the Tree of Silver wings grew over the season until it was nearly forming a perfect sphere, very reminiscent of the Traveler in appearance. Also worth noting that the location it is resting in is literally called "The Cradle". We thought it was called the Cradle because it appeared to cradle the Traveler when it touched down, but perhaps there was another intended meaning...

The tree being oppressive and breeding violence within those who breath its air is very reminiscent of Xivu Arath to me. With how her presence is oppressive and how she can control things by making them succumb to their violent nature with her magic. Interesting thought.
If you look at the location of the final boss fight for garden of salvation, it's actually a giant stump. I assume this is the original tree of silver wings that was destroyed by the fighting between light and dark
Since the trees themselves are of both light and dark, I don't think they have any major implications for our guardian, especially with how guardians have handled Stasis and Deepsight. It may be a different story for the Cabal, Fallen, Hive and Scorn, but Vex (because robot), Taken (because corrupted) and Guardians should remain otherwise immune to the leaves.
I wouldn't say the Tree of Silver Wings on Io has a better connection with the Darkness since it would have both light and darkness within every particle like the original tree. And over the course of Season of Arrivals, we witnessed the Scale (smaller darkness ship) hover over it, actively infusing the tree with Darkness energy, tipping the scales towards that alignment. Also, unless I missed this somewhere in the lore, the Traveler did not make an active attempt to infuse the tree with Light energy. So, without that, the tree was going to become Darkness because of the Scale, not because it has a better connection with Darkness.
Kinda makes you think, if the Winnower and Gardener were fighting over The Tree of Silver Wings, then were did the Tree come from? Is there an even greater paracausal force than the Winnower and Gardener that set all these events in motion long before our guardians or these two main paracausal forces were brought into this story? Feels like we are only ending up with more questions than answers the closer we get to the Final Shape.
My theory, the traveler was born from one of these trees. I just cant help but notice how the top of the tree looks almost round just like the traveler. I'd love some crazy twist in the game where we suddenly have a traveler jr.

Under the assumption that the tree was made by the traveler, it can be reasoned that the witness was able grabe the seed then use it for its own desires.

Probably the silver tree is a converter for paracausal energy. As the light and dark both use said energy to affect the world, they likely view such a thing as dangerous as it negates their abilities.

The Vex under his control alongside a Corrupted Dualistic Paracausal being is a bad scenario but the worst part is what would happen if he got ahold of the Nine considering what they are? This Trinity would most likely be the the Unmaking of Existence on a scale of complete totality. “No more Life, No more Death. The Game is over”. Just think about it… you’ll get it…

This is true, Lord Guardian (if you’ve played Rise of Iron this is what we are referred to by Saladin and Shiro-4) is the only guardian known to be able to wield both Dark and Light) others have to choose which to wield and can’t wield both, which is why the Winnower is trying to gain our favour with gifts and power (he intentionally gave us Stasis) which begs the question, are they testing our strength? Or our limits? I’d love to go into this more but it depends on where I can do this with you or others

I mean, the Light and the Dark violate the physical laws of the universe, but we know the Destiny universe works to heal anomalies in itself- it's why throneworlds collapse when their creators die and aren't replaced, and why things like Taken rifts take effort to keep around for longer than an instant. And the Tree... The Tree eats the Light and the Dark. *Corrects* them.
Yeah, I think it's somewhat implied that Nokris could have a Throne World. After all, we have heard his voice in the Ascendant Realm. If that's truly the case, then when we killed him, he simply would have gone back to his Throne world, then bide his time until he strong enough to return. The real threat though is still Xivu Arath. She's still alive, and with Savathun gone now, Xivu gets 100% of the tribute offered by the Hive. So she's becoming incredibly powerful, and absolutely will be a focus soon. Either in Lightfall, or the season right before.

When you consider the possible narrators, and their views of the nature of light and dark and their places within our universe, you get two broad interpretations. If the narrator was someone from the side of the light that was not corrupted by the darkness, then the quote is clearly an ominous warning. On the other hand, if the narrator was a disciple of the darkness, or any of its followers, it would imply that they fear its potential and power - and possibly even a part of the answer in beating the witness. When one first considers the surrounding area of the first tree of silver wings, and its oppressive atmosphere where nothing grows, it sounds like something of the darkness. However when you consider the way the denizens of the garden, and the followers of the darkness, consider beings of the light and the traveler's power to be aberrations of the natural order of the universe because they do not allow any room for new growth/evolution - much like the area around the tree is devoid of the life that you find elsewhere in the garden. I can't remember which lore card it was specifically, but something else to back up that this narrator is probably aligned with the darkness is the story of a guardian meditating into the black garden. When they stopped to listen to the whispers of the garden, they were told by the flora that they are a dead thing, that only leaves death in their wake. When the guardian protested and said they were an ally of life, they took a look behind them to see the decay and death they brought into the garden where they had any contact with the garden's environment. Guardians are constructs of the light, an they way the allies of the darkness view us is similar to the way that previous narrator views the tree. I believe that this tree is not a weapon in the form we found it (that would go against the philosophy of the traveler), but rather something that could be forged into something akin to a weapon. It did not give us the light explicitly as a weapon, but as malleable source of power with the choice of how best to use it. Almost like giving someone the materials to craft a sword without the blueprints or forge, those we would have to figure out for ourselves. There are other aspects that I could incorporate, but I'll leave it there for now.

So where did the tree and the planet of Io go when the darkness came a few seasons ago, is it destroyed like we thought Mars was? We had a Prometheus like ship appear over Mars when we started the witch Queen? We all thought Mars was gone with the darkness...?? The backstory and the lore and just the fascination and imagination of this game and story is sooo amazing!! And I'm one of the millions that's not a child playing...I'm 52 🤣🤣
The "Prometheus" ship is Savathun's ship and how we get into Savathun's throne world. As for what happened to Jupiter and Io, no one knows... According to Savathun, it was both 'autopsied' by the Witness and hidden from the Witness. Its whatever Bungie decides to use as the reason to reintroduce it later on. Probably as a battlefield for the Darkness.
i kno its off topic but around 3:45 into the video there is an enemy in the background called a "witness" and during the season of the arrivals mission you see these enemies. Not only do you see many of thee enemies they are called "savathuns witness" note this is just off memory so it could be wrong

this is just my take on it but, i dont think the tree of silver wings itself is malevolent. i think from the mk44's lore its malevolent to the speakers pov because it uses both light and dark to survive, implying its the winnower talking. and why its violent is because again made up of two things the "seeming" are fighting for control, "seeming" because the gardener and winnower (traveler and witness) are still in full control of the light and dark respectively any they both feel it in the tree. the gardener is ok with this to some degree because they enjoy all of life (maybe too much), and the winnower hating that its this complicated mess of a thing. but basically before i hard rant about how i see the traveler and the witness, i see the tree sort of like our guardians, something that uses two para-casual powers to survive. a very violent, and oppressive force on the world that causes ruin to the idea to the final shape edit: i thought it was widower not winnower lol
Any chance the Trees are pre light and dark. Maybe the tree represents Chaos the form that predates both? (Reminds me of seven deadly sins hence the reference)
Perhaps the tree is a representation of the story of the gardener and the winnower? The seed (the traveler) goes somewhere, is planted and life grows. As that life flourishes, it begins a natural decline (the flaking of the bark and the falling of the leaves) and calls out to the winnower, telling it that it is time to cut down the old to make room for the new. Then a new seed is taken somewhere else to start all over again? If the traveler is the gardener and the darkness is the winnower, then the tree represents their role in everything? Or, perhaps the silver trees only grown where the gardener has perverted the natural order of things. Nothing is meant to live forever, all things must die, what is dead should not come back to life.
Maybe the tree grows travellers,.. Look at the shape forming from the branches - final shape maybe, it's will is not it's own Also kinda reminds me of the legend of the Divine Tree -- Naruto Shippuden
It could be that both are true: the traveller created it, and Osiris found and planted a seed that had made its way onboard a pyramid ship, perhaps it was there due to a disciple's attempt at corrupting it.

I never thought of 2022 Solstice like that. This could mean Eva has been corrupted. Alternatively, there are Nine forces representing our sentient worlds - some pursue the Light, others the Dark. But does one follow Darklight? Or does our star have a mind living in it that keeps the balance?

Well didn't tree ask or tell us we need to grow and become more than the current reality. I forget what eris had said, I know one part was egg, then later we were told it wants us to, yes, basically go through an unveiling.
This is a simple message: "eggshell." The term carries all the impermanence and fragility you would expect. The Darkness sees the Traveler as something keeping us isolated from the outside world. It is a barrier we are meant to outgrow - and break through. And that was only week 2...read the 13 week, made me think of the nine grimoire card.

Well in the harrowing event. We find evidence that suggest nokris is alive. So I think these fun little events actually do have lore implications.

The "Prometheus" ship is Savathun's ship and how we get into Savathun's throne world. As for what happened to Jupiter and Io, no one knows... According to Savathun, it was both 'autopsied' by the Witness and hidden from the Witness. Its whatever Bungie decides to use as the reason to reintroduce it later on. Probably as a battlefield for the Darkness.
i kno its off topic but around 3:45 into the video there is an enemy in the background called a "witness" and during the season of the arrivals mission you see these enemies. Not only do you see many of thee enemies they are called "savathuns witness" note this is just off memory so it could be wrong

this is just my take on it but, i dont think the tree of silver wings itself is malevolent. i think from the mk44's lore its malevolent to the speakers pov because it uses both light and dark to survive, implying its the winnower talking. and why its violent is because again made up of two things the "seeming" are fighting for control, "seeming" because the gardener and winnower (traveler and witness) are still in full control of the light and dark respectively any they both feel it in the tree. the gardener is ok with this to some degree because they enjoy all of life (maybe too much), and the winnower hating that its this complicated mess of a thing. but basically before i hard rant about how i see the traveler and the witness, i see the tree sort of like our guardians, something that uses two para-casual powers to survive. a very violent, and oppressive force on the world that causes ruin to the idea to the final shape

Perhaps the tree is a representation of the story of the gardener and the winnower? The seed (the traveler) goes somewhere, is planted and life grows. As that life flourishes, it begins a natural decline (the flaking of the bark and the falling of the leaves) and calls out to the winnower, telling it that it is time to cut down the old to make room for the new. Then a new seed is taken somewhere else to start all over again? If the traveler is the gardener and the darkness is the winnower, then the tree represents their role in everything? Or, perhaps the silver trees only grown where the gardener has perverted the natural order of things. Nothing is meant to live forever, all things must die, what is dead should not come back to life.

It could be that both are true: the traveller created it, and Osiris found and planted a seed that had made its way onboard a pyramid ship, perhaps it was there due to a disciple's attempt at corrupting it.

I think the seed was planted by Osiris but the tree itself is something that was last made when the light and the dark worked in tandem whey they both worked the garden I also tend to think the break came when the light aquire free will to ask those questions like isn't there a, different way why does have to be the sword logic be the only way

Well didn't tree ask or tell us we need to grow and become more than the current reality. I forget what eris had said, I know one part was egg, then later we were told it wants us to, yes, basically go through an unveiling.
