They know, no one listen music for the sake of listening to it, unlike back in days when greats like Rafi Kishore da and Mukesh used to sing or in 80 or 90 when kumar sanu, Abhijeet and udit narayan like singer used to perform.
They prepare number of times before they end up in recording studio. That's why each song is masterpiece in its own right.
But now the donkey like aatif come and sing and later software do the magic.. :)
