    Always amazes me how, for one of the largest fire Depatments in the country, that they have all these ladder trucks that are not pre-piped waterways, or that you very seldom, if ever, see any aerials with platforms. Seems that they take more time setting these ladders up, because they have to set up lines and appliance on the tips at each fire, as well as they put their firefighters in more danger by having them stand on ladders while flowing master streams at the tips.

    • @Sucknutz_
      @Sucknutz_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      They train for it, ladder guys love being up there, it’s better eyes to see where you’re directing your master stream, plus never going up there creates fear of going up there and what happens when you have a rescue to make? You’ve got to go up there. I know myself, I’m comfortable being up there because I climb and work up there a lot. I’d rather a FF who’s comfortable and competent doing work up there ca one who isn’t.

    Today is 11/30/22 and the first I'd seen/heard of this and yet, each time I watch the opening footage, my initial thought(s) remains the same i.e.
    _"how odd; the fire is uniformly engaged across the front of the entire building, and in other areas inside the building also."_ *How does this happen* unless?:
    1] there was no alarm system which allowed the fire to engage multiple areas before it was called in; or
    2] it was simply arson which doesn't need a set amount of time to engage multiple areas. [just an observation not a criticism against the FD].

Then the hand line on the right shooting straight thru the window have its water raining down on blacked out area , useless ! The ladder in the middle was mostly hitting blacked out area instead of hitting the seat of the fire right under them another waist !
