    Wonderful video. I hope Accuquilt is watching, maybe they will innovate other quilting designs with the second cut in mind! Thanks

    I love this tutorial and how well you explain everything you're going to do. I've just recently purchased a Go Cutter and am going crazy buying dies. I want to start quilting and like your tips about the seams matching. I've been sewing for over 40 years but want to do quilting to help supplement my very retirement in a few years. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge.

    Wow! A great tutorial. I will have to follow your video when I attempt this method to make four patches. I did not realize that the strip cutter was so versatile. I am going to look for your tutorial on marking the registration lines. It is so clever and so smart! Many thanks for helping me use my Accuquilt cutter.

    You are right, it is the long strip cutter die, and it goes through the cutter the long way. But the fabric is laid crosswise across the die, not lengthwise. That is the whole point of the video is to use it with the fabric laid across for the first cut, then stitched, then laid across a second time and cut again.

      But, the instructions that come with the machine say to always cut on lengthwise grain to eliminate stretching.
      I'm confused here.

    Going down to pick up my new Accuquilt Go cutter today and have had insomnia for the last two nights. All the dies are so expensive, and I've been having buyer's remorse; however, your video helped reassure me that this cutter will be much more flexible than I thought. I can't do all the cutting required for quilting because I have a shoulder problem. I wanted die that could give me jelly roll strips, charm squares, and layer cake squares. I have the first two solved, but it's the layer cakes that are making me nervous. How do I do those???? That's my question for the quilt shop. Thanks!

      I think if you dive in and really learn to use it and join some Accuquilt users Facebook groups you’ll never regret your purchase.

    Bought the die today, it doesn't have any registration marks on it. Did you add/ draw them yourself? Great videos you are so kindly sharing.

      Hi Diane, I added the markings on mine. I think I have a video on marking the dies--may have been my blog--but Ebony at LoveBugStudios also has a video on marking them.

    The instructions with the machine say multiple times to cut on lengthwise grain for stability.
    It looks like you cut on the cross grain.
    Will it work ok?

    • @MarjorieBusby
      @MarjorieBusby  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Closed shapes are always cut on the lengthwise grain, open shapes (i.e., strip cutters) can be cut on the lengthwise or cross-wise grain.

    So what size of Accuquilt Go are you using for this? I am getting ready to purchase one and I think it may be a smaller unit. thank you!

    • @MarjorieBusby
      @MarjorieBusby  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is done on the original AccuQuilt GO! which is still available. There is a smaller Baby GO! and a larger GO! Big also.

    Can you tell me what die you are using? Is it still made? I couldn't find it on accuquilt. Thanks, Holly

    • @MarjorieBusby
      @MarjorieBusby  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that is the 3-1/2" strip die for a finished 6" four patch. That video was made in 2011, so the die has been updated since then with the angle guidelines, etc., but it's still the same die. You can do this method with any size strip die.

    I don't see that dies on the AccuQuilt catalog . What is it call?

    • @ellenhofer3343
      @ellenhofer3343 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are there, usually in the back

  • @bekkieokie
    @bekkieokie 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I look it up and the die goes the long way, and you were cutting the short part of the die.
