- I started following this game back in May. Overnight, this game became a viral TikTok trend! It's still in beta (testing) but the new momentum should help the developers launch this dress-up game.
EversSkies is a browser game where you can chat with others, dress up your doll, and play games.

The spike in activity you showed in the maps is insane! I knew tiktok could resurge popularity for old games, but I'd yet to see it do the same to something new and relatively unknown like Everskies. With all this hype around the game, I'm definitely going to have to check it out myself :o

never thought i'd evolve from a 12 year old on virtual popstar getting ran out to a 16 year old on everskies running out the children, but now's my time to shine i guess.
For someone like me who loves to draw and designing clothes (like with top model, you know the designing book) This website is really awesome, even when it's still a beta, it makes really fun to draw clothes/hair/skins for the shop, it's just sad that currently, they don't submit new designs..

there is a 3d chat called club cooee you can try it out if you want you can designs clothes there too but it costs a few dollars/euros/... and it's 3d so idk
ive been playing everskies for a couple of days now and i love it. I saw a pic of everskies avatar on pinterest and tought that it lookes rly cool so i searched it up and made my own account there! I love that you can layer multiple clothes and create ur own. It would be nice if u could change the size of ur character and do more than just dress up and chat, even tho its nice. Looking forward for new updates! :)

only downside about tiktok finding it, there's a rise in trolls and negative fourms. im glad the game is getting popularity, but the trolls just came in all at once which sucks.
Parrot disabled the forums today to try and fight back against the trolls.
yay im glad u made an everskies video!! i like what u mentioned about the clothes, u made a rly good point about tweens being able to explore themselves safely with clothes, because i think i did most of my self exploration playing similar games while growing up. sometimes i do worry about what they say in the forums simply because i think it puts them at risk, however there havent been any weirdos or creeps trying to prey on members as far as i know, and moderator applications are open right now. ive been a member since april so i was so happy to see the amount of members and attention to it skyrocket!!

yes tiktok viralized it but we can’t forget abt us msp players that were literally desperated abt msp ending because of flash player and we were already moving to everskies before it was viral..i never thought it would become that famous, i also wished that new everskies players knew abt msp tho.

Not really into dress up games, only here to watch Neopets or Flight Rising but I do love seeing them being mentioned. Surprised Flight Rising isnt searched more than Neopets tho :o cuz the community is so active on FR

keep refreshing every hour. theres been a ton of trolls in fourms because of the sudden popularity. 500+ people would sign up at one time.

I guess it's cool that EverSkies got extremely popular but i'm worried that other browser games like lioden or chicken smothie could also get popular. I'm sure it would affect a lot of stuff and a bunch of toxic people could join and ruin the experience for everyone.
It would also bring more revenue to the site to hire more moderators to mitigate the toxicity. I hope other sites become more successful!

i feel like chicken smoothie is more of a niche kind of website? i haven’t been on it in years but back when it was more popular i tried it out and just wasn’t a fan- if it’s still the same premise with different animals and eggs and more of the furry audience, then i’m sure it’ll stay there! growing a community is always great on these sites anyway and i’m sure makes the creators very happy :)

Everskies is an intelligent online game that can't make you bored , I've been addicted to everskies now , es is so inspiring and fun ,but the launch wasn't good,Es has blown up on tiktok everywhere,es is such an interesting game ,I have lots in common with es ,I hope u keep uploading videos! Sad! I almost signed up when you made your first video but never got around to it. Now the sign up is closed, can't wait for it to open up again and check it out. Not sure how long I'll stick around but it seems interesting. Have any plans for FR or dappervolk content soon?

Julie! On everskies, there’s currently some drama regarding a Ramadan event. I’d be interested in your take on “religious” events on pet/browser sites like this. Like what holidays are usually included and which maybe could use some more attention? Or if they should all be secular in nature?
honestly, im muslim, and id be fine if they dont do an event like that. just like i dont enjoy having christmas and easter themed holidays shoved down my throat idrk if others would enjoy it. also the fasting aspect could be problematic and triggering for people with eds or recovering so i can understand why they wouldnt want to put it on the site
although the managment is trash and the mods are ban happy i still rlly enjoy everskies, i just use adblock and dont watch ads for currency so that my money doesnt go to the problematic creators

@@PSJulie it was! A very basic horse breeding sim that ended up getting a cartoon, the site shut down about two years ago but the playerbase had dwindled to nothing. I think it inspired another horse sim, but the name of that one escapes me

I kinda like the game, I joined today after constantly seeing your videos recommended to me (I really don't like there pixelated dress up games), but it's quite okay, yet it's pretty simple, it seems like there's not much to do, just dressing the doll and playing games to earn coins. I did like the fact that the pose changes are automatic and it seems like almost everything is buyable with game currency. But I'm afraid they'll keep succeeding if they don't develop new stuff to the site, like dailies or game mechanics, really, like jobs or other stuff to do with your avatar, like in virtual popstar (which I also joined today and I liked it better, despite the bad management, but I'm not too into their art style, I prefer everskies')

It's fun for some reason but I'm not good with clothes designs. It's Imvu but you don't have to spend real money or a lot of time to get items to dress up with. I can't wait t until they open forums again.

@@PSJulie Omg everything. The site crashed. They ended up not having any of the outfits back, so there were only like 10 outfits left. More racism drama where there were mods who may or may not have been locking black users posts immediately and then letting a white supremacist troll account and post sit for hours. Not adding many black skintones back when the first site came up so there was only like 1 or 2 black skin tones but a few pages of white people, so it showed maybe to the black community that when they were trying to get things back together onsite, they were lesser priority.. they basically made a big hype about this launch and then we came back to a site that was stripped of everything and had nothing, and less. It was a strange deal!!
@@PSJulie Also the discord server was shut down like immediately after all that drama, and they claim it "wasn't related" but it seemed like it was... so people couldn't be too close to the staff or something...
I don't know why but I'm an x-neo user (I really HATE their beta) and ever since you've covered Everskies I've been obsessed! I see a lot of potential in the game but still makes me nervous to invest too much until they figure out more of a business plan, as it seems like they are having more trouble than they thought! haha

The owner/mods have made some extremely tonedeaf comments that put a lot of people off the game. I'm not sure how comments handle links, but googling "Marapets controversy" should bring up a reddit thread with all the tweets and forum threads.

@@PSJulie There was a few things actually, I was a kickstarter backer and was very excited for the game but there was a lot of things that went wrong after it's release and it's now dwindling popularity. The first big wave of people left when Dappervolk tried having a gacha system for their premium currency shop. They changed it now but a lot of users had been upset at the time. The second wave of people left when users realized that Dappervolk had changed the original artwork giving black outlines to items that previously were more painterly. The third and biggest wave left after the the summer festival event, which had unreasonable grinding for all specialty items. This burned a lot of users out there was a massive drop in activity immediately afterward. Plus, a Mod for the game was at the top of the leaderboard the entire time. Eventually they removed it because it was causing concern and users were actively choosing to not sleep for more then 48 hours to compete.
Then the issue of the staff using Discord to inform users of things instead of the forums or site, lots of information wasn't released, users began getting worried because their guild system, which had previously been stated to be accessible, experienced bugs and had to be shut down before anyone could use it. Instead of giving us more clear information they said they would release it "soon" People began losing faith as to what soon meant after they did it more then once.
Now with only about 400 log in dailies a lot of users have began liquidating assets for other site.
Personally however, I have a custom clothing creator and have been waiting a very long time for them to release the rules, which after update and update of them not doing so has caused me to lose more faith. I know they will do it eventually, they always do. But it stopped being fun not being able to even know what I can or cannot make.
There is one other thing too, it was a game for me and my girlfriend, however my girlfriend deals with gender dysphoria, which is made worse on Dappervolk. Because the bases are sexless and genderless for those who are trans men or trans women it can be distressing if their character doesn't reflect how they are supposed to look. Their character reaffirming their gender is really important.
I want to keep playing but all of those issues have been frustrating and maybe I just need a change of pace.

It is a game played within a browser. It will not give you any virus that any other website wouldn't give you. It's primarily for young people, age 13+, but anyone can play it. The usership is pretty open to all sorts of identities.

That's going to be dependent on the user's ability to mimic the clothes in their wardrobe! Growing up, I didn't have very much control over the clothes I owned. Other people may have different situations.

I've stopped playing Everskies recently because of the closure of forums and the transphobic/racist moderators. Everyone's progress will be wiped, except usernames and levels, and currency will be more difficult to obtain. "Inappropriate" clothing is also being removed. I enjoyed the game for the time being because of the low moderation, creative field, and the platform being seemingly non-toxic and meant for older players, but now it seems like it's becoming another version of MSP. Moderators have started to change usernames, ban users from opinionated-based forums, and silencing players for no reason. I'm not sure if many people will be returning to the game after the official release. The activity has decreased dramatically from almost 8,000 players to 2,500 at most- even on a weekend at prime time. I'm not excited about game development much anymore. They failed the website themselves.

The progress getting wiped is pretty common for games going from beta to launch. I've heard a lot from users who had negative experiences due to the low moderation, it's interesting to hear the other perspective against moderation.

Yes, but I don't recommend the most similar ones. Maybe try Dappervolk? Different style, but you can still dress up a cute doll.

Hell of a stupid game, lots of cheaters called designers stealing other people's ideas, should have been banned and deleted, they lie from the get go only to take your money saying buy pass to have your design up and running, really cheesy and jealous people with no sense in esthetics, don't waste your time for this sh.. ty fit, very underdeveloped and amateurish, basically copy of virtual popstar and equally nonsensical...

It's mobile compatible and is browser-based, the functionality will likely get more built out.
