HI Jan, This is brilliant. Thanks a ton. Nowhere I could find such an explanation for the algorithm. You have saved hundreds of hours of scholars like me by posting this video. Great work !!!

Thank you for your video on PLS SEM. When I look at your Excel file in sheet Stage 2. The relation between Loyalty and Loyalty 1 is calculated by =COVARIANCE.P(Stage1!H4:H33,Stage1!V4:V33) while the relation between Product Satisfaction and Product 1 is calculated by =COVARIANCE.P(Stage1!B4:B33,Stage1!$W$4:$W$33). V column is non-standardized while W column is standardized but the relationships are all reflective ?

However, I can't download the excel files in the videos with the titles "weighting schemes", "complex models", and "formative indicator". If you don't mind, could you please re-upload the files? Thanks again for the explanation.

I understand the example used in Chp 5 of A primer on partial least squares structural equation modeling.
Does it mean we cannot do a test on convergent validity if we dont have a single item global measure that is reflective for our formative construct.
Say my formative construct is safety concern.
However this is no single item global measure for safety concern available in the literature (in fact safety perception is a scale I have developed, lets say) then what do I do?

Chắc bạn ấy nói nhầm đó, vì step 1.4 là tính Covariance mà covariance chỉ trả lại một giá trị thôi không có nhiều để normalize được.

hi Patricia, this is the regression-coefficients of the respective constructs service sat. and product sat. on explaining the values for loyalty. depending on the data, the model complexity and the subject these values are very different. in a complex matter 0.30 can be high, in a well reserached area it might be that .30 is a rather low value. I found this book a good start to get a basic understanding of how to use smartPLS and apply the method as such: www.sagepub.com/books/Book237345

Hi professor Jan. Thanks for your video about PLS. I have a question. I need to use in a questionnaire: rating questions (likert scale 5 points), list questions (dummy and multiple selection) and category questions, and I will use PLS. What do you recommend me in each type of question in order to introduce the data in PLS software? Please give me an example: for each type of question. Thank you for your support. The software that I have is SmartPLS 3.

Great Video... it has clarified the Algorithm for me... I only have one doubt, on the Step 1.3 of the first stage, because of your model you don't have a construct that has one incoming path from another construct, as well as one outgoing path to another construct.
I'm not sure what the formula should be there, I see that for the Loyalty construct, because it has two incoming paths, it has two products in the formula, like this: AA$4*W4+X4*AB$4
But how should I proceed if I have something like this Product -> Service -> Loyalty, how should I operate the Step 1.3 for the Construct of Service?
Again thank you for your video! Great job!
