This interstate is why we'd occasionally drive from Lincoln to Omaha for lunch. A lot of days it took longer to get from south Lincoln to I-80 than from there into Omaha.
Omaha is really nice . I was there for nearly 9 months before I moved back to Illinois . Traffic was hardly a problem and the part of 80 on the Iowa side had a total overhaul done with express and local lanes added.

Now, that's how a major interstate ought to look. Six lanes, well-maintained, wide medians. Nebraska really only has one, but it is 455 miles long.

I-880 is very scenic AND hilly coming out of or going into the Missouri river basin
The road goes down to 2 lanes just outside of Lincoln, but it's being expanded to 3 lanes to York.
14:55 Longer distance signs like these are what save I-88 in IL for me from being a snoozefest west of I-355.
