    Love that Pitts! The controller played a trick on you from letting you know last second from green to orange dot. Nailed it easy! Congrats!

    Watching as many of these as I can. Looks like they switched you from the midfield green dot on RWY27 to the approach end orange dot while you were already on base! Great flexibility altering your landing target with such short notice! Hoping to take the plunge and do my first Oshkosh flight next year. Thanks for the great video.

    The first time i went to oshkosh I drove there, looked up must have been around one of the waypoints, saw a skybolt rock its wings, gave about 90 degrees in each direction! That was the first plane i saw at my first OSH.

    Intense! I never thought about how hard it would be to see the flagmen when taxiing in in a Pitts or other low-visibility taildragger. Hoping it won't be that bad when in my RV-8 when I bring it in... maybe three years from now, when it's finished and I've gotten a LOT of practice in it. Thanks for sharing!

    I always wanted to fly into OshKosh, but after seeing this, I think I will be copilot on the first attempt.

    Always wondered what it was like arriving at Oshkosh, and now I know. I am not a pilot, but am an old enthusiast. Would love to visit Oshkosh someday with all my cameras. Thanks for the video.

    Question, what is that white thing above the right side of the panel? I've seen some people with those but have no clue what they are.

    Great video and audio! How far did you have to fly to get to KOSH?

  • @pizzasubs

    Man that had to be one of the longest taxis I have ever seen after landing, just out of curiousty, would like to know how much or little of your fuel you actually used during that Long taxi to your final parking spot....and also to bad there was no way to actually lock your canopy in the open position just so you wouldn't have had to hold it open the whole time, but your arm was starting to get a little on the sore side from having to hold it open like you did....

    • @LukePennerAerobatics
      @LukePennerAerobatics  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Andrew Silva Haha yeah, definitely a long taxi ! No, the certified Pitts' don't have any locking canopy that i've ever seen. I think my adrenaline was pumping so much from having just landed at Oshkosh that I never noticed if my arm was getting sore or not ;)

    • @pizzasubs
      @pizzasubs 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank oyu so much for replying, if you dont mind me asking, since you said that your planes doesnt have a locking canopy, guessing all you can do is latch it securley just so it wont Fly open while you are up in the ar right? One more thing, what was that white box and that orange piece of equipment that u had on the top of the planes dash or should I say the planes canopy cause they were attached to it when you opened it after landing....oh one more thing, on bi-planes like this, why did they make them so that the actual Pilot sits in the rear section and not the front thinking that the front position would have the best view for actually flying the plane????

    Am I seeing things or does that aircraft have a clear floor under you?

    • @LukePennerAerobatics
      @LukePennerAerobatics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sure does! Mainly used for box positioning at an aerobatic contest. You can also see when your smoke system is on :)
