Dwight really was that dude before that back injury/surgery and he bounced back so fast to be able to continue his career. The media absolutely destroyed his reputation and as a result ppl STILL snub him and disrespect him. It’s crazy how it all played out.
The fact he was mocked for being soft whilst playing through an absolutely destroyed back and still being all star level shows how stupid we as nba fans are
Was just thinking about how epic a sim where you start in 1984 but reject all the expansion teams as you sim to the present so all the talent is compressed into a smaller league would be INCREDIBLE when you reminded me to like
I don’t know if it’s already been done, but I think it’d be interesting to do a simulation of a season where every team has its highest rated player removed.
Dwight was one of the best players in the league for a long time. The best young center during his first couple years and definitively the best C in basketball from 2007-2011. Dudes a 8x All-Star, 8x All-NBA, 3x DPOY, and a 5x All-Defense. Hes 10th in total rebounds, 13th in blocks, 19.4k points. Name 1 guy with a resume like that left off the 75th aniversary team. I forget who, but someone in the media said "Dwight Howard played himself off the 75th Aniversary team"......if thats even remotely true, how is that even possible? With all due respect to Damien Lillard, and comparatively resume-wise Anthony Davis......how did those two make it over Howard? On top of that Howards won an NBA Championship as someone who played a decent amount of minutes and contributed a good amount to that championship. Its a nice way of saying he wasnt a bum riding the bench on the way to a free ring. I could talk about the back injuries that defined his later half of his career, but most just look at his stats and call him washed. I wont go into that, but what I will get into is the fact that Dwight was still a damn good NBA player in LA. Despite what most think, he played 76 games for LA. He was a 17 pts 12 rebs and 2.4 blks a game player in LA, and even better in Houston for the first year where he also played over 70 games. He obviously had a significant drop off the last year in Houston, but go check out his Per 36s in Atlanta, Charlotte and his second stint in LA. Whether his body wouldnt allow it or the coaches wouldnt let him play more, he was putting up amazing numbers....especially in Charlotte. No He cant shoot threes and no he hasnt had a ton of post-game. He relied on his strength, athleticism and dominance to ensure he got his and when it faded, so did the perception he wasnt good anymore. But the game moving to a more shooting oriented style took away from his strengths and abilities along with the injuries. Far from the player he used to be, but dude deserves some much needed respect. Hes a HOFer, an NBA Champ and one of the most dominent forces the NBA has seen. Orlando was a team way ahead of its time and its a shame it ended the way it did, but Dwight was a huge part of that team. He led the Orlando Magic franchise to the NBA Finals to face one of the games goats. Obviously theres a big difference between him and Shaq, but Shaq didnt get hurt till later. If he didnt get hurt, we wouldnt be having this conversation imo, but thats just my opinion. What I listed are the facts and his stats, which should have been more than enough to grant him a spot in the top 75. Sad that the people voting didnt see that. Dame and AD still had a chance to make it onto the top 100 in 25 years. Theyve both got a lot of NBA left in them and chances to improve their resumes. Dwight doesnt, and thats what makes it sad to me.
I remember as a kid, Dwight’s AAU team were basically the Monstars in Atlanta. They had Dwight, Josh smith, Javaris Crittenton, Brandon Rush, and this dude Mike Merceri don’t think they ever loss. Too much size and length and athleticism for HS aged players to deal with. They locked everybody down, and killed in transition. Their fast breaks were like And1 with the dunks they’d pull off.
“Wasn’t even injuries, just went downhill” Cmon now. Dude literally had severe back surgery at the end of the year before he was brought to LA, played earlier than he should’ve, and still played 76 games in 2012 at 50%
Fun note, the one time Dwight gets the Jazz to the finals they end up losing to the Bulls. At least Dwight took them to 7, Malone only ever got 6 games.
It was definitely Howard’s back injury in 2010 that made the Magic not want to resign him and that’s when he went to the Lakers and it got worse and worse for him. He was definitely my favorite player behind Tim Duncan at that time.
I’m also from queens Long Island, rockaway to be exact n a die hard Knicks fan. Been one since Nate jumped over Dwight. Maybe do a Nate resim with a higher potential. You’re a goat Clique!
I recently saw a drose interview in which he spoke about the bulls saying they weren't gonna take him #1 so i think it be interesting to pair him with a prime wade right out the gate
Watching the Dwight Magic Secret Base video and then seeing the situation again on old Inside the NBA clips, I can't believe that happened with him and Stan. Even after all we've seen in the league the last few years. I think I might try building that Dwight team in 2K9 or NBA Live 08 sometime
Dwight didn't just "randomly" fall off in 2013 he was coming off a back injury that he was never the same after. He played most of that season with the lakers playing hurt and still averaged 18 and 13
The man was trying to make a case that he should be on the Warriors this year (in part to advise Wiseman). Maybe they need another veteran player but don't know if I would trust him.
Pretty sure dwight's back injury made him "fall off" and got him traded from the magic, he was also already unhappy with the magic so it was a perfect time to get off of dwight.
I really like this video, but wish you did Dwight Howard career shim when he actually got drafted it was the first building block. Can you do more people when they actually get drafted and then the cool ones win different decades no hate at all love the videos.❤
Great video as always but I do believe you’re right when you say the D-Wade resim was the worst one bcuz he couldn’t make the playoffs to save his life until like his twilight years of his career 😂😅
VIDEO IDEA: Mix two NBA goats rookie versions in 2k and see if one of your creations becomes the next goat but here are the rules each creations has to be the same position for example ray Allen and Mj for SG or Wilt and Bill for center do this 3 or 2 times
Do a sim where T-Mac and Grant Hill never get hurt amd stay together in Orlando. If you haven't done that already. Maybe you did something similar like Tim Duncan going to the magic.
Dwight really was that dude before that back injury/surgery and he bounced back so fast to be able to continue his career. The media absolutely destroyed his reputation and as a result ppl STILL snub him and disrespect him. It’s crazy how it all played out.
The fact he was mocked for being soft whilst playing through an absolutely destroyed back and still being all star level shows how stupid we as nba fans are
Moreover the fact they put day to day Davis in the top 75 over him when u look back now looks stupid asf
@@juicyeboi9006 its new fans that only wanna see steph curry and his clones shoot 3s for 48 minutes that have no clue what basketball is
Facts! Shouldn’t even have played in 2012 and averaged 17 & 12 at literally 50%. The Dwight slander is ridiculous
Lakers wouldnt won that Mickey Mouse ring without Dwight as well. He was solid during that run
I have been watching since 100k and I haven't seen someone as excited for Jericho Sims than me.
I’ve been watching since 2k subs
I've been watching sense 16k
I’ve been watching since 0 subs
@@Justthatgirl7 I’ve been watching since he did the Kris London career sim
I've been watching since 1.8k on my smart TV back when I was like 13-14

Thst a a good idea fr
That idea sounds fire
Yeah baby! Grew up as a huge D12 fan, so happy Clique dropped this banger. Thanks man!
Prime Dwight was a different beast back then and him against Giannis right now would be like LeBron and Kobe.
giannis would eat him alive don't kid yourself
I don’t know if it’s already been done, but I think it’d be interesting to do a simulation of a season where every team has its highest rated player removed.
lakers would get lucky
Would love to see a Tracy McGrady or a DeMar DeRozen re-sim or a no injury resim for Kawhi from the year he came into the league (same for Tracy)
He's done Tracy already.
@@Libbawittz has he also not redone some of his other video ideas tho
"We're entering uncharted territory, no Nathan Drake", that was heat
Been waiting a wile for this
LETS GOOOOO, love Dwight and keep making bangers man!

Crazy thing is the ceiling at the beginning for Howard was Wilt and just like wilt got stopped by Russell Howard got stopped by Victor
Love you man thanks for taking so much time out of your day to make such entertaining content
I was learning about how when Anthony Davis gets up he proceeds to injure himself when you reminded me to like.

I don't know if you've already did a Steve Nash career sim, but you should if you haven't
Didn’t think I would watch a Dwight Howard career resim today but here I am
I'm a fan from Taiwan, I'm just so happy that Dwight is comming. Thanks for the great video clique
Can we get a video where you add in all the best players that never won a ring in one draft class and see what happens??
i have a 5 foot teddy bear that i just put my dwight magic jersey on today and he’s chilling in my dorm room staring at me while i watch this
Clique is such a inspiration the goat
Dwight did have an injury. When he was traded to the lakers he had a back injury that caused his decline
Appreciate you clique fr
I only started watching a few months ago love these videos…. Can we do Oscar Robertson career re sim in the modern time
Clique starting the video with “Yo Yo Yo Welcome back to another career sim” made my brain feel wrong
23:55 yes he has remember when he hit that three at the end of the 2020 chip run
I’ve been waiting for the Dwight Howard career sim for years now thank you sm

CLIQUE, if you get ringing in your ears pretty often it’s prolly tinnitus, usually caused by playing music too loudly in headphones
Man, the Dwight Howard career sim quickly became the Collier career sim.
Why Clique so effortlessly funny lmao
Let’s go!!! Been waiting for this one for awhile
Yoyoyo, love the intro, Garnett with long hair❤
Day 1 of asking for a Lebron James MyCareer simulation video but you put him in MJ's draft.

You should do a Robert Covington Career Re-Simulation
when are we getting a “Clique Production” career simulation?
The boozers go to my school and they’re the only reason why we won a state championship
Could you maybe do a career simulation on the boozer twins?
I was watching deadweight Howard Superman dunk for the 357 time when you reminded me to subscribe

This might sound weird but you have like a really soothing voice lol
love all carrer sim videos, lets goo
rebuild my team (Timberwolves) and make the video name “Rebulding the Timberwolves Because They’re Frauds”
I think it’d be funny to make trae young the greatest defensive player of all time
Dwight Howard is one of the most athletic players I have ever gotten to see in person. Great dude
Thank you for the content.
I was watching bol bol sleep while massaging his toes when you reminded me to subscribe
2K needs to add a clutch mode into the settings and pauses when you are within 2 possessions at the final 2 minutes of the games
Yoo clique keep up the good work

That ringing means you'll never hear at that frequency again
I was watching my own highlights when you reminded me to sub

Is this documentation of the first "Yo yo yo" on Clique's channel?👀
It would be nice to see an NBA Career Re-Simulation but using the new 2k Eras. That would be a true a re-sim of their career
I can’t believe Dwight was allowed to wear the number of celtics legend Brandon Bass
Dwight was great back then especially in 2010
Dwight’s back injury killed his career slowly
bro be saying the most random things😭😭"bam adebayo retired"💀
Hey Clique, what about a Magic big three with mcgrady, Dwight, and penny or shaq, mcgrady, and penny? 🤔
clique just droppedddd

Do a sim where T-Mac and Grant Hill never get hurt amd stay together in Orlando. If you haven't done that already. Maybe you did something similar like Tim Duncan going to the magic.
Dwight had a back injury in La and he tried to prove to Kobe and La he was tough tried to play through it and messed his back up more
I LOVE YOU CLIQUE

wemby retiring at 99 overall is crazy
I actually went to school with Chris Johnson I never spoke to him but my friends have claimed that he's a pretty cool dude.
Dwight got Primo on his team and went crazy for the MVP
Can u pls make a video where u pit draft classes against eachother like 2012 draft class vs 2020 draft class
It's about the equivalent to what people perceive his real career was like
What would be cool is Bryce Bronny and LeBron career Sim in 2004 same team. Also, add Frank Nilikina
i’ve noticed the “alright alright alright” has slowly declined video after video. rip intro
