I just had a few questions because I'm really struggling on my Balance (Feel like I'm the only one lol). For background I went 7-2 to start without using scales of destiny. But then I just hit a losing streak (mainly to ices running 80-87 balance resist.) So I decided to start using scales but I've actually noticed now I play worse when using it. I'm 10-10 now and kinda lost on really how to play balance. My questions would be: 1. What's the best way to deal with shield gambits as a balance? And similarly, elemental tri shields. 2. Against Myth does it really just come down to pulling enough righting the scales? 3. Balance's gambits with the exception of an early game surprise Balance Scion kind of suck in my opinion. Combined with the fact that the other schools kind of have a linear kill plan as opposed to balance's more reactive kill plan, I'm struggling to kind of formulate a simpler approach to it. Meaning I find myself playing too defensively and getting in a hole early because I'm trying to avoid a massive 5k damage shad from a Myth/Fire/Storm. What's your approach in the early game and how do you continuously apply pressure? 4. What spells do you rely on to build pips during the match? Other schools typically just blade, shield (especially if you're a Myth/Death/Ice), weakness, etc. I find as a balance since you're not really ever blading you're not threatening a bigger hit than the school you're going against therefore they are more comfortable building pips while you kind of just have to take the open shots as they present themselves whereas some of the other schools just need 1 good shad and a gambit and you've lost. So what I've been doing is just taking those shots as they come while trying to avoid taking an open hit at any cost and pretty much all of my losses have come within 100-1000hp of eachother meaning I'm close but I'm consistently missing something. Sorry for the super long comment but I feel like I'm the only balance who just can't rank up rn and it's pretty frustrating.
1. JD + Righting 2. Comes down to outplaying and Deck RNG 3. Their gambits suck, u need to cover your bases early then threaten a nice hydra/scales with magnify/dark pact 4. Stunblock, aura, empower, weakness, shield
As a new player which sub schools do you recommend for balance? Which spells should i aim for? And does it even matter to go for a sub school? Appreciate your efforts in advance
Jesus this game sounds way crazier for pvp than I remember.
