Awesome stuff 🙌 Quick question 🤔 I see that you chords are reaching 0db while you play them on thier own, does the whole track sample clip while everything is playing? If not, I'm interested how you have this set up. Thanks 🙏
No the chords don't clip. We're working in digital so the fact it's clipping on its solo channel is irrelevant. It won't change the sound or cause clipping in any way. It goes through several buses before hitting the premaster and subsequently the master. In general, the final chord group after all post processing usually hits around -18db in the way I have things set up. Hope this helps!
Yes, absolutely. With delay I tend to just high pass to cut the lows so they don't get in the way. Reverb I both clean it up with a low/high cut and also do some shaping EQ to bring out specific character in the reverb that I'm after.
@@mentaofficialuk Really good advice thanks dude, I have a nother question sorry for bombarding you. So I've been following your tutorial everything is linked but I'm having issues with the delay, I can still hear the dry signal even tho it's turned down all the way and the wet is all the way up. The reverb is working how it should though and they are both linked the same way. I may be missing something simple, have you any suggestions? Thanks again
Sounds like the delay channel is routed to two places or something. I'm not entirely sure, just check your routing, check the plugin again and make sure the feedback isn't too high and causing everything to get muddy
They should be played the octave below the chord itself. So if your chords are starting at C5, the bass notes will start on C4 for example. If the chords start at D6 then the bass notes will start at D5. I usually have multiple layers of chords, so the bass notes move depending on what octave the chords are playing. I tend to have one layer higher than the other. Another tip is to remove the bass notes of the chords in the drop to free up space for the actual bass. Hope this helps!
@@mentaofficialuk Sorry for all the questions haha. I'm quite new to producing Haha :) . if you have supporting elements for the chords during the drops like pads is it best to send them to the same reverb and delay send as the the chords and process the with the chords or should they have there own reverb/delay? and processed separately. You should deffo make some more tutorials man. more people Producing Hardcore the better!
@@naughtyducky6325 No problem! I always process pads and other things separately. They're always so low in the mix volume-wise that I don't really process them that much a lot of the time. Usually keep the built in reverb as opposed to my own etc. There are more tutorials on the list mate. I just need to find the time to do them 😅
Very informative!
Always wondered how to mix chords before I saw this
Also I love your accent
Great tutorial bro!

@@mentaofficialuk Thanks for the reply 🙏
It sounds really nice and clean 👌
Thanks for the tutorial. Is this song released?
This song was made just for the purposes of the tutorial, so nope! 😅
@@mentaofficialuk oh you should release it!
Well explained, thx alot
Alright mate can you do a bass layers and processing tutorial please 👍
I'll give it my best. Can definitely talk about processing but I sample a lot of my basses so I'll cover that too.
@@mentaofficialuk cheers mate 👍

@@mentaofficialuk I think I got it thank you dude it was a little to loud.
Thanks for the tutorial! Should the bassnotes of the chords be played in the same octave as the bassline or should it be played above it?
